Choral Choir (2-Part) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.805209 By Joanna C Mills. By Joanna C Mills. Arranged by Joanna C Mills. Broadway,Children,Christmas,Holiday,Musical/Show,Sacred. Octavo. 102 pages. Joanna Mills Music #412246. Published by Joanna Mills Music (A0.805209). This fun musical retells the Christmas Story through the adventures of some time-travelling teens! In Just in Time for Christmas, a group of senior Sunday School students decide that they’re too old to take part in the Christmas pageant. While hiding from their Musical Director, they discover a mysterious machine that takes them on an epic adventure through space and time! Along the way, they encounter a number of biblical characters (including Isaiah, Mary, Elizabeth, Joseph, the Innkeeper, and the Shepherds) and learn that the Christmas Story is important and real. The musical features a flexible script with parts for every age group, allowing for maximum flexibility with age-range, cast size, and rehearsal time. Each part of the story is followed by an original song sung by the entire cast. Costumes, sets, and props are also minimal, and there are no scene changes, which allow this show to be staged in any space, including traditional church sanctuaries. Just in Time for Christmas features five original songs written and arranged for school-aged children by Joanna Mills. The songs are all set in an accessible range for young children, and feature simple tunes which are easy to learn. This package contains two versions of each song; an easy unison version (some with an optional easy descant or counterpoint harmonies on the final chorus), and a 2-part choir version, which features simple, easy-to-learn harmonies. This allows you to mix and match your arrangements to suit the abilities of your singers and your rehearsal time constraints. For those students who do not read music, the lyrics are included in the script. The piano accompaniments are at an intermediate level and guitar chords are included, which allows older youth to participate as musicians (or allows experienced accompanists to learn them quickly). This complete package contains: • Director’s notes – including suggestions for staging and casting • List of props and costumes • Full script • Five songs with the following arrangements provided for each song: o Unison lyric sheets included in the script (for children who do not read music) o Unison Choir arrangement with piano accompaniment and guitar chords o 2-Part Choir arrangement with piano accompaniment and guitar chords visit www.joannamills.ca for more savings and free offers.

Brass Ensemble Trombone,Trumpet,Tuba - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.826665 By The Carpenters. By Paul Williams and Roger Nichols. Arranged by Bud Caputo. Pop,Rock. Score and parts. 17 pages. Bud Caputo #3618189. Published by Bud Caputo (A0.826665). We’ve Only Just Begun and Close To You are two classic pop hits made popular by the Carpenters and would serve nicely as a back to back medley for all your audiences. Sheet Music Plus is bounded by copyright not to publish medleys; however, these two arrangements are sold separately and are brief enough to complement each other. Both arrangements offer a comfortable range for all parts and are in familiar keys. However, there is a bit of chromaticism associated with both; especially in We’ve Only Just Begun as the melody dictates a passage that modulates down a half-step. These nostalgic Carpenter hits will be appreciated by young students but especially by the older members of the audience.

Choral Choir (SSAA) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.856204 By Justin Timberlake. By Justin Timberlake, Scott Storch, Timothy Mosely, and Timothy Mosley. Arranged by Liz Garnett. Dance,Pop. Octavo. 6 pages. Liz Garnett #4301725. Published by Liz Garnett (A0.856204). From Justin Timberlake's album Justified, this song makes an obvious reference to the 1950s ballad of the same title. Whilst it contains a similar emotional theme, the narrative that unfolds is quite different, as are the musical gestures of popular music 50 years on from the older song. The arrangement borrows a lot of the motifs from Timberlake's recording and weaves them into a texture that develops in complexity until the very end where it dissolves back into nothing.N.B. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.719736 Composed by Various. Arranged by Curtis Hanson. Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Curtis Hanson #4573109. Published by Curtis Hanson (A0.719736). As years come and go, one increasingly recalls memories of earlier times. One of the most vivid and cherished memories I have while growing up is of Sunday mornings, going to church, sitting in the same pew each week with my grandmother, hearing and singing the beautiful hymns of our faith, and then returning home to the aroma of beef slowly roasting in the oven. My father directed the church choir, my mother and older brothers sang in the choir, so the wonderful music of our faith was instilled in me from an early age. This medley, and others in the series, are arrangements of many of my favorite hymns from those early years, many of which have been lost in more recent editions. For this series, I have elected to use the older texts as that is the way they were first written and the way I first learned them. There is a reverence and beauty in the language enriching the vocal/choral tone which, I believe, is lost in contemporary, conversational, or politically correct syntax. I shudder to think of the day when a penitential phrase such as Hear thou my prayer, O Lord is rendered as Hey, God-dude, listen up - I'm talkin' atcha! I have also opted not to include the many wonderful hymns and carols which are associated with the major festivals of Christmas and Easter as those are commonly found in other collections. A caveat: I have no delusions, and I offer no pretenses, that these settings are great art. They are simply expressions of faith which I hope may bring a small measure of joy to other church musicians. The general concept of each medley is to present the hymn, often in its original chorale form, and then vary its harmony or texture. The hymns in this set include Spirit of God, Descend upon My Heart, Just As I Am, without One Plea, and Savior, Again to Thy Dear Name.

The second one is the one everyone sings! If you don't wish to play the older melody just Strat pickups to measure 19. Playable by any string as a solo, or any combination of strings as an ensemble. Pianiolist Music #4855169. Published by Pianiolist Music (A0.894856). Christmas is, personally, my favorite holiday of the year, now I haven't been alive for that long but if there's anything that I've learned about this holiday, it's that as you get older it starts to hold a different meaning, when you're a kid you really just care about that bike (or yamaha electric piano, in my case) being under the tree, and as you get older you start to understand the meaning of family and friends. and that's all this holiday is about, being together.Well, this Christmas I hope that you and your string quartet (or orchestra) get together and find the true meaning of Christmas in my medley of Christmas carols, and I hope you enjoy. .

Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1398436 By Bobby Darin. By Albert Lasry, Charles Trenet, and Jack Lawrence. Arranged by Tobi A Crawford. Contemporary,Jazz. Score (Chords/Lyrics). 7 pages. Tobi Crawford #981711. Published by Tobi Crawford (A0.1398436). This arrangement came to me over a number of weeks in a very organic way that began with the ostinato piano figure that prevails throughout the piece. I began playing it unattached to any tune and I just liked the way the line descended in the left hand and how I had to find voicings in the right hand that made harmonic sense – like a puzzle. As I was playing around with this puzzle, thoughts of my father were swirling around in my head – I was at the end of a 4 year period of separation from my parents owing to the fact that I’m a Canadian expat living in the US and the borders were closed for a long time because of Covid, and then I had work visa issues and my parents were getting older before my eyes. They were also losing friends to cancer and other ailments and my dad, in particular, had experienced the loss of many close family members and friends during our separation and it was taking a toll. One day I sat down and played the now familiar-to-me ostinato but randomly I started to sing “Beyond the Sea†over it and it fit perfectly. I thought it a happy coincidence. As the days went on I committed to putting my ostinato with Beyond the Sea and the lyrics started to seep into my brain. I have, of course, heard these lyrics many times before, (who hasn’t seen Finding Nemo?) but the lyrics didn’t mean what I thought they meant… They’re NOT about the ocean, they are about my dad!!! Well, kind of… I realized, through careful reflection and by slowing the words down, that the lyrics are talking about a person in heaven who is patiently waiting for their partner to join them. Somewhere beyond the seaShe’s there watching for me…It’s far beyond the starsIt’s near beyond the moon And the lyrics end with them meeting, “We’ll meet beyond the shore, we’ll kiss just like before,†and the song ends with: “and never again I’ll go sailing.†It’s like the big bang went off in my head about why all these thoughts of my dad, and his friends, and this arrangement, and what it all meant suddenly just MADE SENSE and I was able to start formulating a plan. Performance Suggestions: The improvisation solo in the middle should be free of any traditional “scat syllables†and should be more of a lament. Listen to singers like Aubrey Johnson and Sara Gazarek improvise on ballads for inspiration.

Published by Edition Craig Hanson (A0.1270160). For TTBB chorus a cappella and solo voice. As performed by Arlo Guthrie.Wanna hear something? You know that Indians never ate clams. They didn't have linguini! And so what happened was that clams was allowed to grow unmolested in the coastal waters of America for millions of years. And they got big, and I ain't talking about clams in general, I'm talking about each clam! Individually. I mean each one was a couple of million years old or older. So imagine they could have got bigger than this whole room. And when they get that big, God gives them little feet so that they could walk around easier. And when they get feet, they get dangerous. I'm talking about real dangerous. I ain't talking about sitting under the water waiting for you. I'm talking about coming after you.Imagine being on one of them boats coming over to discover America, like Columbus or something, standing there at night on watch, everyone else is either drunk or asleep. And you're watching for America and the boat's going up and down. And you don't like it anyhow but you gotta stand there and watch, for what? Only he knows, and he ain't watching. You hear the waves lapping against the side of the ship. The moon is going behind the clouds. You hear the pitter patter of little footprints on deck. ‘Is that you kids?’ It ain't! My god! It's this humongous, giant clam!Imagine those little feet coming on deck. A clam twice the size of the ship. Feet first. You're standing there shivering with fear, you grab one of these. This is a belaying pin. They used to have these stuck in the holes all around the ship… You probably didn't know what this is for; you probably had an idea, but you were wrong. They used to have these stuck in the holes all along the sides of the ship, everywhere. You wouldn't know what this is for unless you was that guy that night.I mean, you'd grab this out of the hole, run on over there, bam bam on them little feet! Back into the ocean would go a hurt, but not defeated, humongous, giant clam. Ready to strike again when opportunity was better. You know not even the coastal villages was safe from them big clams. You know them big clams had an inland range of about 15 miles. Think of that. I mean our early pioneers and the settlers built little houses all up and down the coast you know. A little inland and stuff like that and they didn't have houses like we got now, with bathrooms and stuff. They built little privies out back. And late at night, maybe a kid would have to go, and he'd go stomping out there in the moonlight. And all they'd hear for miles around...(loud clap/belch).... One less kid for America. One more smiling, smurking, humongous, giant clam.So Americans built forts. Them forts --you know—them pictures of them forts with the wooden points all around. You probably thought them points was for Indians but that's stupid! 'Cause Indians know about doors. But clams didn't. Even if a clam knew about a door, so what? A clam couldn't fit in a door. I mean, he'd come stomping up to a fort at night, put them feet on them points, jump back crying, tears coming out of them everywhere. But Americans couldn't live in forts forever. You couldn't just build one big fort around America. How would you go to the beach? So what they did was they formed groups of people. I mean they had groups of people all up and down the coast form these little alliances. Like up North it was call the Clamshell Alliance. And farther down South it was called the Catfish Alliance. They had these Alliances all up and down the coast defending themselves against these threatening monsters. These humongous giant clams. Andt hey'd go out there, if there was maybe fifteen of them they'd be singing songs in fifteen part harmony. And when one part disappeared, that's how they knew where the clam would be.Which is why Americans only sing in four part harmony to this very day. That proved to be too dangerous. See, what they did was they'd be singing these songs called Clam Chanties, and they'd have these big spears called clampoons. And they'd be walking up and down the beach and the method they eventually devised where they'd have this guy, the most strongest heavy duty true blue American, courageous type dude they could find and they'd have him out there walking up and down the beach by himself with other chicken dudes hiding behind the sand dunes somewhere. He'd be singing the verses. They'd be singing the chorus, and clams would hear 'em. And clams hate music. So clams would come out of the water and they'd come after this one guy. And all you'd see pretty soon was flying all over the sand flying up and down the beach manmanclamclammanmanclam manclamclamman up and down the beach going this way and that way up the hills in the water out of the water behind the trees everywhere. Finally the man would jump over a big sand dune, roll over the side, the clam would come over the dune, fall in the hole and fourteen guys would come out there and stab the shit out of him with their clampoons. That's the way it was. That was one way to deal with them. The other way was to weld two clams together. [I don't believe it. I'm losing it. Hey. What can you do. Another night shot to hell.] Hey, this was serious back then. This was very serious. I mean these songs now are just piddly folk songs. But back then these songs were controversial. These was radical, almost revolutionary songs. Because times was different and clams was a threat to America. That's right. So we want to sing this song tonight about the one last... You see what they did was there was one man, he was one of these men, his name will always be remembered, his name was Reuben Clamzo, and he was one of the last great clam men there ever was. He stuck the last clam stab. The last clampoon into the last clam that was ever seen on this continent. Knowing he would be out of work in an hour. He did it anyway so that you and me could go to the beach in relative safety. That's right. Made America safe for the likes of you and me. And so we sing this song in his memory. He went into whaling like most of them guys did and he got out of that, when he died. You know, clams was much more dangerous than whales. Clams can run in the water, on the water or on the ground, and they are so big sometimes that they can jump and they can spread their kinda shells and kinda almost fly like one of them flying squirrels. You could be standing there thinking that your perfectly safe and all of a sudden whop.... That's true... And so this is the song of this guy by the name of Reuben Clamzo and the song takes place right after he stabbed this clam and the clam was, going through this kinda death dance over on the side somewhere. The song starts there and he goes into whaling and takes you through the next...I sing the part of the guy on the beach by himself. I go like this: Poor old Reuben Clamzo and you go Clamzo Boys Clamzo. That's the part of the fourteen chicken dudes over on the other side. That's what they used to sing. They'd be calling these clams out of the water. Like taunting them making fun of them. Clams would get real mad and come out. Here we go. I want you to sing it in case you ever have an occasion to join such an alliance. You know some of these alliances are still around. Still defending America against things like them clams. If you ever wants to join one, now you have some historic background. So you know where these guys are coming from. It's not just some 60's movement or something, these things go back a long time.Notice the distinction you're going to have to make now between the first and easy Clamzo Boys Clamzo and the more complicated Clamzo Me Boys Clamzo. Stay serious! Folk songs are serious. That's what Pete Seeger told me. Arlo I only want to tell you one thing... Folk songs are serious. I said right. Let's do it in C for Clam...Iet's do it in B... For boy that's a big clam... Iet' s do it in G for Gee, I hope that big clam don't see me. Let's do it in F... For …he sees me. Let's do it back in A...for a clam is coming. Better get this song done quick. The Story of Reuben Clamzo and His Strange Daughter in the Key of A.

This jaunty number in swing time was originally a satirical song for alto and piano or alto and guitar (Looking just looking at the personal ads) - which is also available on this site. I decided that the music on its own without words (but with a few variations) would also work well... so here is Springtime jaunt. The words of the original song are:Young man, twenty four, lookin' for a soul mate:slim dark handsome versatile.Who will answer? Will it be the man of my dreams? Will he be the one, will he write to me,will he like my style, will we get on?Looking, just lookingat the personal ads,can we find true love? Are they the peoplewaiting only for us?Waiting for a letter, waiting for a letter, looking, looking.Kindly lady, thirty eight, cuddly butch and lively, likes a laugh and country walks.Who will answer? Will it be the girl of my dreams? Will she be the one, will she write to me,will she like my style, will we get on?[Chorus]Leather wearing, fifty four, into whips and bondage:genuine answers only, please!Who will answer, will it be the whip of my dreams? Will he be the one, will he write to me,will he like my style, will we get on?[Chorus]Grey panther ninety two, into older women, cuddle to my Zimmerframe,Who will answer, will it be the crutch of my dreams? Will she be the one, will she write to me,will she like my style, will we get on?[Chorus].

Published by Jenny Joy Ahimsa Moore (A0.1447011). This piece is for a symphony that would play more challenging music. It is how I view, and harmonize, my dysfuctional/abusive family. The middle section falls apart much like my family truly was, behind closed doors. That is: we lived in the same house, but we did not communicate, we did not listen to each other. Near the end, it becomes much darker, almost funereal, like the truth of what being the youngest child (of a narcissistice mother, with an older narcissistic sister, a dad who chooses to remain ignorant) in my family was truly like. The various parts represent members of my family , sometimes several parts represent one member, or (at times) one part represents several members. Typically, the flute represents my sister, clarinet represents myself (sometimes tuba and trumpet as well). The parts overlap , to show how we did not listen and spoke at each other rather than with each other. This piece shows not just what each person was like on the outside, but also shows the more subtle sides of each member that few people really see or know about (the abuse behind closed doors). This piece is multi faceted, multi layered, like the 4 main members of my family are. The very end points to the Grace of God being the only thing that can heal my family at this point. The flute ends higher than clarinet, in the Hope that Healing can truly occur (not just my family, but with other families that hurt as well).

Published by stanleymhoffman.com (A0.1404778). Written in 2024, Romance for String Orchestra is unabashedly tonal piece based on music from my compositions Romance for Orchestra (1982) and Pasacalle Triste (2024). Romance for Orchestra was composed as my undergraduate thesis at The Boston Conservatory of Music and has since writhed in obscurity. One understands why, though: various passages sound like juvenilia. Still, others sound a good deal stronger, and it is those passages that I have rescued, and which are featured in Romance for String Orchestra. Newly composed passages bracket and are intertwined with older ones, many of which are here transposed. Though just a smattering when compared to the number of passages borrowed from Romance for Orchestra, the ones borrowed from Pasacalle Triste nonetheless provide a meaningful creative arc manifested in one composition, and they provide just the right touches during various sequential passages. Speaking of sequences, Romance for Orchestra contains what is for my oeuvre the most expansive sequence I have composed to date; in both cases that sequence leads to the formal recapitulation of the main theme in the tonic key C Minor. I hope you enjoy Romance for Orchestra. Thank you for your time and attention.

This beginner piano piece is the shortened version of the song C D E Just for Me. It is designed to introduce the youngest beginner students to their first three notes on the treble staff using the Middle C position. This should be the first song that they learn from my instructional songs. Using large font with bright colours, lyrics and fingering, new beginners will easily learn this song. It uses quarter and half notes for the rhythms for easy reading. If a student needs more assistance distinguishing between the notes on the staff, I will highlight each note head a different colour depending on the pitch. For older beginner students, I recommend using the full version of the song C D E Just for Me instead. It is also available for purchase. .

Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #846048. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1251832). This lovely folksong is thought to have come from Scotland, though similar versions have been recorded in other parts of Britain. The song is also known as “O Waly, Waly†which means something like “woe is meâ€. For such an old song, it is not surprising that there are many variations of the lyrics. An early version of the modern lyrics was consolidated by the British folksong collector Cecil Sharp in 1906 using multiple older sources in southern England. There are many sets of lyrics with different story-lines. This was because performers would often create new lyrics for the song. This melody has attracted a family of lyrics many of which bear little relationship to each other. The words used in this choral arrangement reflect the popular and optimistic lyrics used during the twentieth century. The song was made popular by many folk singers notably Joan Baez and Bob Dylan. It has become one of the most popular folk songs today, largely because of its beautiful tune. But as with the lyrics, there are many variations on the melody with the result that no single variation can be considered the “correct†one. This SSA arrangement by Colin Kirkpatrick is ideal for boy choir, amateur choir, school or college choir. Each section of the choir as the melody line at some point and there are attractive and evocative counter-melodies. In the Soprano 1 part (which has one brief divisi section), the highest note is G5 (the G just above the staff) and the highest note in the Soprano 2 part is E5 (near the top of the treble staff). The Alto part has a range of G below Middle C (G4) up to B flat in the middle of the treble staff. The piano part is an integral part of the arrangement and therefore essential. The music begins in E flat and modulates to C major. Running at just over three minutes, the work is sure to be popular with choir and audiences alike. Note that the audio sample cannot yet render the words.

Contemporary music MUST use elements that are either different in substance or in context from the Old Common Practise: otherwise, the music is not contemporary. Yet, Earth, Air, Fire and Water, these elements have not changed since the dawn of, well, Everything! So, our Suite for Violin and Piano is named after these unchanging aspects of our world, while using musical elements and contexts that are NOT from the past. Asymmetrical or odd-numbered phrases, major 7th, tritones, and half-steps instead of diatonic scales, wide melodic intervals, pointillisms, non-tonal harmony in the accompaniments, etc. This first movement is Adagio, slow and solid. The audio clip, along with the score, will show you more than can be described in words. Playable, listenable, accessible, and yet novel. Contemporary music that retains just enough of an older sound and feeling is the best way to get players and audiences to perform and listen to what it has to offer. Each selection in the suite runs just over 2 mins. They are all posted here as individual titles, and can certainly be played as such. Audio clips of each movement are available through this method. The entire 4-movement suite is advantageously priced. parts and a score for each. MBB.

In the soprano part (which has one brief divisi section), the highest note is G5 (which occurs only once and safely approached) and the highest note in the alto part is C5 (in the middle of the treble staff). The bartione part lies between A flat 2 (bottom space in bass clef) and D3 (just above the staff). The piano part is an integral part of the arrangement and therefore essential. The music begins in E flat and modulates to C major. Running at just over three minutes, the work is sure to be popular with choir and audiences alike.
