The second movement of Blaze's Piano Sonata in E Major No. 1, following A Look Into The Past, A Moment In The Present was primarily inspired by Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in F Minor No. 1 and Piano Sonata in C Minor No. 8 “Pathetiqueâ€. I gave it its name because I find it to be a very relaxing and dawdling piece. It reminds me of someone just lounging around and enjoying nothing but taking in the moment. The syncopated melody gives off the feeling that his thoughts are also jumbled together. He is not actively trying to achieve anything, but instead just letting anything come to him. It is supposed to contrast the first movement by being simpler and more relaxing (where the first is dominating and complex). I especially wanted a much more lyrical and monophonic (single voiced) piece to contrast with the polyphony (many voiced) and layers of the first.

ATON is a stage play written by Manfred Strolz and Otmar Rützler which represents Egypt in the time of the Pharoahs but seen through the eyes of modern theatre directors and actors. The modern scenes are spoken but the Egyptian scenes require music, so Manfred and Otmar asked me to write the music for these. The music is composed for various forces as the play progresses, from the full orchestra (woodwind, strings, harp, piano, timpani) and choir down to more intimate moments with single voice or duets, flute and classical guitar or with single voice and bassoon. For each section the pdf file contains score and parts and the sound sample is an electronic preview. As I write 16 sections have been composed, but more are to come - please just search for Aton in due course for the full picture. The first performance is planned to take place in the Landestheater in Innsbruck during 2015 ================= ATON ist ein Bühnenstück von Manfred Strolz and Otmar Rützler geschrieben, das Ägypten von der Pharaonenzeit vorstellt aber auch duch die Augen moderner Direktoren und Schauspieler sieht. Die modernen Szenen sind gesprochen aber die ägyptischen Szenen brauchen Musik, deshalb haben mich Manfred und Otmar gebeten die Musik dafür zu schreiben. ATON is a stage play written by Manfred Strolz and Otmar Rützler which represents Egypt in the time of the Pharoahs but seen through the eyes of modern theatre directors and actors. The modern scenes are spoken but the Egyptian scenes require music, so Manfred and Otmar asked me to write the music for these. The music is composed for various forces as the play progresses, from the full orchestra (woodwind, strings, harp, piano, timpani) and choir down to more intimate moments with single voice or duets, flute and classical guitar or with single voice and bassoon. For each section the pdf file contains score and parts and the sound sample is an electronic preview. As I write, 21 sections have been composed, but more are to come - please just search for Aton in due course for the full picture. The first performance is planned to take place in the Landestheater in Innsbruck during 2015.

If you haven’t seen it, it’s your duty as a musician to see it right now!Set originally for voice, two guitars, bass and autoharp, my arrangement for voice and guitar captures key parts of the countermelody and includes the instrumental break of the original in a very accessible arrangement.The original was performed on guitar with a Capo on fret 2, and my arrangement is no different - it makes a guitar part that is easy to play and which uses familiar shapes. The Lead Sheet has the vocals, the lyrics and the guitar chords. I’ve also included a fingerpicking “Notation only†Guitar Part and a “Notation + Tab†Guitar part - the latter is rather large for a music stand! As it stands, the vocal range is A below middle C to B 9 notes above - mezzo or baritone. For a lower voice, just take the capo off the guitar - for a higher voice move it up the neck a little! Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1218745). The Hand of You is an arrangement of the 1920 hit pop song by Carrie Jacobs-Bond. Â The lyrics are a tender love story about how throughout our relationship everything is fine as long as I can touch the hand of you. Â In order to emphasize this simple and powerful emotion, for the first verse I simplified the original ballad's thick chords into a more shaped and expressive two part writing, just single notes in each hand; then for the second verse I did a reharmonization of the melody, adding some simple harmony and octaves for the climax; then back to two part for a slower, softer ending. Â I also wrote a new slow introductory section with my own lyrics and melody that is based on what follows. Â An incredibly beautiful piece, this is perfect for any wedding today, whether vintage or modern. Â 4 page score; 2:15 minutesI have published it in 3 different vocal ranges on this site: Â High - low E to high F; Medium - middle C to high D; Low - low A to high B. Â The MP3 recording is of the Medium Voice version. Â This piece is also found in my book, Vintage Wedding Songs, a collection of 5 songs which is also available on this site.

This is a piano transcription with voice of the version of My Love, My Life from the movie Mamma Mia Here We Go Again. The version in the movie is sung by Lily James, Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried. The song was originally performed by Abba and is written by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus. This arrangement has been made for the three voices as used in the movie but can be performed as a duet just as easily.
