Originally scored for two soprano voices, accompanied by two violins and piano, this delightful work has been thoughtfully re-scored for orchestra (including percussion) by Kara Williams, and is aimed at intermediate level ensembles. The passionately pastoral introduction section leads into a joyful 6/8 section featuring the two trumpets and a cheeky quote from Handel’s ‘Messiah’. Adopted in 1992, the anthem was written by Vardan Hakobyan and composed by Armen Nasibyan.Artsakh, officially the Republic of Artsakh (/ˈɑËrtsÉ‘Ëx, -sæx/)[e] or the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (/nəˌɡɔËrnoÊŠ kærəˈbæk/), is a breakaway state in the South Caucasus whose territory is internationally recognised as part of Azerbaijan. Artsakh controls a part of the former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast, including the capital of Stepanakert. It is an enclave within Azerbaijan. Its only overland access route to Armenia is via the 5 km (3.1 mi) wide Lachin corridor which is under the control of Russian peacekeepers.The predominantly Armenian-populated region of Nagorno-Karabakh was claimed by both the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic and the First Republic of Armenia when both countries became independent in 1918 after the fall of the Russian Empire, and a brief war over the region broke out in 1920. The dispute was largely shelved after the Soviet Union established control over the area, and created the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast (NKAO) within the Azerbaijan SSR in 1923. In the leadup to the fall of the Soviet Union, the region re-emerged as a source of dispute between Armenia and Azerbaijan. In 1991, a referendum held in the NKAO and the neighbouring Shahumyan Province resulted in a declaration of independence. Ethnic conflict led to the 1991–1994 Nagorno-Karabakh War. Conflict has sporadically broken out since then, most significantly in the Second Nagorno-Karabakh War.The Republic of Artsakh is a presidential democracy with a unicameral legislature. The country is reliant on and closely integrated with Armenia, in many ways functioning as a de facto part of Armenia. The country is very mountainous, averaging 1,100 metres (3,600 ft) above sea level. The population is 99.7% ethnic Armenian, and the primary spoken language is the Armenian language. The population is overwhelmingly Christian, most being affiliated with the Armenian Apostolic Church. Several historical monasteries are popular with tourists, mostly from the Armenian diaspora, as most travel can take place only between Armenia and Artsakh.

Due to the difference of lunar calendar and solar calendar about 1-2 months late. The original poem had used the February to show the month of flowering. But, that month does not have to many flowers to open. So, the translator used the April to replace the February. And the back translation to modern Chinese also used the fourth month. .

Galveston, (from A Texas Symphony,) is the first movement of five Texas pieces that are musical illustrations of historical events that took place in Texas. Galveston, tells the story of the Battle of Three Trees fought between Jean Lafitte's pirates and the Karankawa Indians, Feb.21, 1821. The battle was a result of the pirates capturing a Karankawa Indian maiden, and the Indians retaliating by capturing one of Lafitte's men. The U.S. Calvary arrived and assisted, and after a three day battle, 21 Indians were killed, and no pirates or U.S. Calvary soldiers were lost. The battle took place by a grove of trees then known as Campeche Cove, known today as Pirates' Cove, on the West end of Galveston. The music is about 12 minutes in length, scored for orchestra. Galveston is traditional romantic style program music. Strings open the piece with a wave theme designed to portray a pirate sailing ship in the Gulf of Mexico, then flows into a pirate theme, followed by a kidnapping theme, and Indian pow-wow with war drums, then the three day fight begins. There is a historical marker at Pirates' Cove erected in 1936 by the Texas Hwy Dept. to commemorate the Battle Of Three Trees.
