Time After Time is the second single by American singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper from her debut studio album, She's So Unusual(1983), with Rob Hyman (co-writer and founding member of the rock band The Hooters) contributing backing vocals. The track was produced by Rick Chertoff and released as a single on January 27, 1984. The song became Lauper's first number 1 hit in the U.S. The song was written in the album's final stages, after Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, She Bop and All Through the Night had been written. The writing began with the title, which Lauper had seen in TV Guide magazine, referring to the science fiction film Time After Time (1979).[2]Time After Time is composed of simple keyboard-synth chords, bright, jangly guitars, clock-ticking percussion, and elastic bassline. The Maestro Horacio Salgán selected 22 of his "Best Themes" that I put together an album when he played at the Club del Vino and musicians came to buy their music sheets that I was selling, so that’s how this project was born among so many that together we designed for the diffusion of his oeuvre.

So, when I was asked to write a piece for a duo in such circumstances, like the Rose-Gibbs Duo, I saw it as a great opportunity to explore the possibilities of blending, fusing, and merging musical content, sound, and other parameters into a cohesive whole.Therefore, this work explores the concept of musical discourse produced by the interaction of both instruments, which often have to align their accents, timbre, or dynamics to become one entity; as if melting together, as if two solids became liquid and fused to form a new alloy. I Would Rock My Child to Sleep- A sentimental Irish lullaby Irish lullaby Do Chuirfinnse Féin Mo Leanbh a Chodladh (I Would Put My Own Child to Sleep) highlights the shifting roles of a caregiver: the parent full of hopes of the parent for the child morphing over a lifetime into a blessing from the grown child to the aged parent. Each verse is progressively based upon an overall narrative: 1. hopes of the parent for the child 2. an easy, natural rhythm to family life, possibly the child is older now, and there is a dream of family continuance 3. uncertainty over who is nurturing who: does the child now sing to comfort the parent? 4. a closing blessing for peace and rest that hearkens back to the successful sleep of a tired infant III.
