Published by Editorial Copistas Acuario (A0.1460309). En 2012 se habló bastante del calendario maya y de una interpretación que causó un gran impacto a nivel mundial por sus presagios fatalistas. Sin embargo, entendí que estas Profecías Mayas, más allá de predicar destrucción, enunciaban el inicio de un mundo nuevo, uno que todos nosotros debemos construir. Me inspiré en el tema y decidí escribir 31 composiciones, una por cada día del mes de diciembre —práctica que desde entonces mantengo, siendo el pasado diciembre mi 11o año consecutivo. Ahora, en 2024, el equipo de la Fundación Copistas Acuario —presidida por mi amigo y discípulo Samuel Beethoven—, me honra con la siguiente edición de composiciones para piano, luego de haber también publicado mi libro «A ti Estudiante» en 2019. En cada una de las piezas se presenta una propuesta distinta y diferenciada. Cada título es alusivo al día correspondiente según los almanaques y muchas veces en conexión con la numerología. Es un libro interesante para estudiarlo y ampliar el repertorio, pero que sobre todo busca elevar la capacidad interpretativa. Siempre he tratado de enviar un mensaje de vida a través de mi música y en esta obra, además, quise expresar la fascinación y el asombro que este pueblo antiguo y misterioso me causa. Se dice que este pueblo desapareció, pues decían venir de las estrellas, específicamente de las Pléyades; tal vez regresaron a su origen cósmico de la misma manera en que vinieron. ¡Embárquemonos, pues, nosotros también en este fascinante viaje musical que hoy presentamos ante ustedes! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In 2012, there was a lot of talk about the Mayan calendar and an interpretation that caused a great impact worldwide for its fatalistic omens. However, I understood that these Mayan Prophecies, beyond preaching destruction, enunciated the beginning of a new world, one that all of us must build. I was inspired by the theme and decided to write 31 compositions, one for each day of the month of December —a practice I have maintained ever since, this past December being my 11th consecutive year. Now, in 2024, the team of the Fundación Copistas Acuario —chaired by my friend and disciple Samuel Beethoven,— honors me with the next edition of piano compositions, after having also published my book “A ti Estudiante” in 2019. Each of the pieces presents a distinct and different proposal. Each title is allusive to the corresponding day according to the almanacs and often in connection with numerology. It is an interesting book to study and expand the repertoire, but above all it seeks to raise the interpretative capacity. I have always tried to send a message of life through my music, and in this work I also wanted to express the fascination and amazement that this ancient and mysterious people cause me. It is said that this people disappeared, given they claimed to come from the stars, specifically from the Pleiades; perhaps they returned to their cosmic origin in the same way they came. Let us, then, also be embarked in this fascinating musical journey that we present to you today!

Maybe for a reason, or maybe not.The piano part has some very grumpy sounding chords throughout the whole piece. See if you can have someone play the piano part for you as you learn this song, so you get used to some of the very dissonant, clashing sounds you hear. Pay careful attention to the articulation markings. Use clear tonguing on the staccato notes, and overall make sure your staccatos are as short as you can make them. Accents should be strong. Loud sections can sound like someone stomping around, and the quieter sections are when they are sitting down, but still upset about things.This piece works on thumb low notes, particularly C, D and Eb. It is in rondo form, and each return of the A section is a bit more technical.Time: ca. 2:00Key: C minorRange: C2-C4This piece would be a good introduction to the bottom register of the bassoon, focusing on C, D and Eb in particular. Once the student has purchased this piece, an adjudicator’s copy may be made. In this text, the author invites the Holy Spirit to transform her life by opening her eyes, her mouth, her ears. Each stanza ends with “illumine me, Spirit divine!†May that be our motto every day of our lives! The piano arrangement is structured in three sections (one style for each verse). In the first section the hands stay close to the middle register and the voicing is modest. And the oom-pah-pah rhythms will give it a light bounce that will bring a smile to whoever plays or listens. On the second verse the hands move to a higher register where the music suddenly becomes more delicate. Think of a music box! Lastly, on the third verse we pull all the stops! Here is a straight-forward instrumental trio arrangement (for VIOLIN and CELLO duet with PIANO accompaniment) of the holiday classic The Twelve Days of Christmas.The CELLO leads with the melody for the first Day, but then the VIOLIN carries the melody for the remainder of the song, moving between octaves. A little extra practice may be required to master the occasional switching between 3/4 and 4/4 time signatures. Also, the repeats for Days 7 through 12 require concentration on counting down the days.All notes for both the VIOLIN and CELLO are playable in the first position making this arrangement an excellent choice for early-intermediate string players. The PIANO accompaniment is written for an intermediate player. THIS IS AN ORIGINAL (simple) SONG I WROTE FOR MY MOM AND SISTER To be clear, it is a prayer written in musical form. I guess that makes it a psalm. A few nights ago I was feeling the pain of so many people around the globe who are suffering due to the pandemic. I was inspired to sit down and write an simple song of comfort for them-for us. The very same evening I started writing the song, unbeknownst to me, my sister was being taken to the hospital where she collapsed of heart failure and was life-flighted to the nearest cardiovascular facility.They put her on life support (ECMO and ventilator) to let her heart and lungs rest. Two days later, due to complications with circulation in her leg she had to be rushed into emergency surgery to pull the catheter from the artery leading to her heart. This required taking her off of life support four days earlier than they had planned. We were informed she may not make it. Thanks to thousands of people praying for her, and her own indomitable spirit, she pulled through-but not without more complications.A fever kicked in and lack of circulation in her other leg caused even more concern. Her heart and body were suffering greatly. As we prayed (and thousands of you from around the world prayed with us) I kept massaging and nuancing the exact melody line I wanted, at the same time interweaving various lyrics to intuit what felt right. I wanted this to be a song anyone could sing for their beloved family member or friend who was struggling. Every note, every syllable had to land just right-as if it was meant to be.Through all this my mother was going through her own bit of personal anguish. We were basically waiting for my sister to die. Due to COVID regulations nobody, not even family, could visit her in ICU. My mother bought a plane ticket... just in case. We hoped beyond hope that, If she died, she would not die alone. I wanted to finish this song by Mother's Day to share with my mother and my dear struggling sister who is also a mother of 5. I finished it and sang it through tears on Mother's Day. I have many friends show speak Spanish who are going through very difficult times due to COVID-19 and the subsequent quarantine. The second time through is a carefully crafted Spanish translation. I hope to hear people singing this far and wide with, to and for each other.

The first piece in each season is at the mid to late elementary level, the second piece is at the early intermediate level and the third piece is at the intermediate level. Winter Fun Suite, for the winter season, has 3 short pieces: I. Downhill skiing II. Ice Fishing on a Cold and Windy Day III. A Snowmobile Ride! Downhill Skiing uses rapidly descending 8th note C major scales, followed by tonic and dominant bass notes with a stepwise five finger notes in the melody. Ice Fishing on a Cold and Windy Day uses the A minor position, alternating hands and stepwise 5 finger 16th notes. A Snowmobile Ride! uses primary chords in the bass clef and broken tonic chords in the right hand.
