Small Ensemble Bass Clarinet - Level 3 - Interactive Download SKU: A0.1081182 Composed by Horace Silver. Arranged by George Kaplan. This edition: Interactive Download. Jazz. Score and parts. 9 pages. Duration 134. George Kaplan #3twZIB0zYvsynuaepMfK1d. Published by George Kaplan (A0.1081182). Key: F# major.Horace Silver had not seen the insides of a recording studio for 750 days before laying down Silver 'n Brass. His previous record, In Pursuit of the 27th Man, was unusual in its instrumentation (vibes) and for including a number of non-Silver tunes. (But the cover of Liberated Brother, from that record, did go on to become the backbone of his late 70s live shows.) So, as a prolific composer, Horace had a large backlog of tunes at his disposal as he entered the studio in January, 1975 and the 6 cuts on Silver 'n Brass are among his best. Horace broke the sessions into two: a straight-ahead post-bop session with Ron Carter (whose chubby bass spews artifacts all over the place, in his best late-70s style) and Al Foster on drums and another, more commercial session featuring Bob Cranshaw and Bernard Purdie. Wade Marcus later added horn overdubs employing an absolute who's-who of LA session players. (Word quickly got out among the cognoscenti, and Silver 'n Brass became hugely popular among fellow musicians, much to Horace's delight.) Highlights of the disc include: the composer's propulsive piano solo on Dameron's Dance, young Bob Berg's paint-peeling tenor solos (especially riveting on Kissin' Cousins) and the driving flat 9th chords of Adjustment. The tune Barbara, a gorgeous waltz dedicated to Horace's then-wife, has become a latter-day standard of sorts (Amazon's MP3 store lists a whole bunch of covers). Sophisticated Hippie, a tribute to Duke Ellington, features quite a rhythm-section workout in its closing vamp: this session would be the only time that Horace and Bernard's paths would intersect. There are no vocals this time out, just fully arresting post-bop of a high order.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.994712 Composed by Darian Stavans. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards. Score. 39 pages. Music Studio #4320909. Published by Music Studio (A0.994712). Three Walzes belong to my album Darian Stavans´ Piano Music.Piano Music brings together five collections of music for piano from the repertoire of the composer. It inherits the thematic foundation for piano music and its most common forms, and contains its characteristic technical virtuosity and lyrical passages, sonata forms that have been transformed by the personal logistics of the composer as well as by the intricacies of building an album. The work flows from the innermost corners of intimistic music and travels through moments that are mystical and spiritual, liturgical and religious, into traditional waltzes imbued with classical piano forms before emptying into Piezas Pecaminosas, a collection of four pieces for piano. Piano Music is an adventure into knowledge that joins the thousands of musical pieces in the universal repertoire for piano. As we listen, we are taken through intimate musical passages leading into pieces executed with the utmost visual virtuosity.13 pages.Duration: 9:50Website: www.darianstavans.comemail: darianstavans@gmail.comYouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/darianstavans/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Darian.Stavans1

Oboe Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.886656 Composed by Panagiotis Theodossiou. Christian,Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Individual part. 13 pages. Panagiotis Theodossiou #3056135. Published by Panagiotis Theodossiou (A0.886656). Paraklisis, for clarinet solo (1991). The first of composer’s works written in a modern progressive idiom. It is based in symmetry of intervals and their gradual transformation. It is a musical equivalent of someone’s experience by attending the Paraklitikos Canon to Virgin Mary a very famous ritual which takes place in Eastern Orthodox Church at August. The work is divided in 7 parts:a. Ritual,b. Prayer Ι (bird song),c. Offer,e. Dance (mystic waltz),d. Prayer ΙΙ (recitativo),e. Expectation,f. The Miracle. In its stage form, the work, includes an introduction with two monastery talanton, (a percussive piece of wood, monks use for ceremonial calling) sounding in a canon before the sound of a censer. A narrator recites hymns (troparion) from the ceremony between the parts. The work draw the attention of exquisite performers as Michel Arrignion, Stathis Kiosoglou (first and second performance in Athens in 1991-1992) and Giannis Sabrovalakis who under the artistic direction of Theodor Antoniou gave a performance at the 3d Sacred Festival in island Patmos (2003). He also recorded the work for a coming up CD production. In its version for oboe solo (2002), it has been perfomed by Spyros Kontos at Ionian Academy Music Hallin Corfu, in 2010, who also recorded the work for his personal CD Metamorphosis. http://oboemetamorphosis.wordpress.com/2012/01/18/theodossiou-paraklisis/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gjdfWtEb_M .

Full Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.886728 Composed by Panagiotis Theodossiou. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 157 pages. Panagiotis Theodossiou #5753415. Published by Panagiotis Theodossiou (A0.886728). Work written in 2018 a thesis for composer's postgraduate studies in Musical Department of Ionian University (Composition for Vocal and Instrumental Ensembles). It is based on the, under the same title ('Premonition'), poem by the 19th century British-Canadian poet Robert William Service (1874 - 1958). Point of departure is the eternal conflict between light and darkness, hope and despair, vision and nightmare, spiritual formation and inner confusion, being together and being apart, past and future, life and death. Leading by love (eros), a series of sudden thoughts and premonitions and the composer's inner visions on Service's text is a vehicle, a canvas for this composition. It follows a multilanguage style between serial-atonal and tonal idiom. It consists of an introduction which is repeated variated at the end as an epilogue and nine variations, each of a different character - independent but following one another without a pause: 1. Introduction, Sudden Thoughts (Severo) 2. Var.I. Towards the Light (Lento ambiamente) 3. Var.II.Nightmare - Shadows' Chase (Allegro deciso) 4. Var.III. Hope (Lento mystico) 5. Var.IV. Moonlight Wandering (Valse noire) (Poco piu mosso) 6. Var.V.Vision i, An Imaginary Procession (L' istesso tempo) 7.Var.VI.Vision ii, Butterflies - An Unexpected Love Affair (Valse d'amour) (Allegro) 8.Var.VΙI. Depression and Relief (Illusion) (Grave) 9.Var.VIII. Contemplation Waltz (Passacaglia) (Con moto) 10.Var.IΧ. Confusion - A Broken Heart (Moderato) 11. Finale. Last Thought (Tempo primo)

Chamber Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.922635 Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by Aaron Meier. Romantic Period,World. Score and parts. 7 pages. Aaron Meier #5792353. Published by Aaron Meier (A0.922635). Original by Johann Strauss II Reduction to String Orchestra by Aaron Meier Part: Full Score ONLY True to the original work by Strauss, this reduction for string orchestra features the ornaments and mystical writing that defines Strauss' polkas. There are optional percussion parts to be added at the discretion of the ensemble, however even without percussion the ensemble will sound full (the percussion acts as an ornament). Difficulty: Intermediate-advanced - advanced (best-suited for advanced student ensembles) ---Performance Notes: • Approximate length: 3:30 minutes • 1st Violins: In m. 1, trill a half step from a D♠to a D♮ • 2nd Violins:  - At m. 42, divide players by 3, with 2 players playing line A and the remaining player playing line B  - At m. 72-75, emphasize the E♠in the div. • Snare Drum: The buzz roll needs to be quieter than how it is played in the midi recording (*see YouTube link ↓) History: The Olga-Polka itself owed its creation to a Russian royal wedding which took place in St. Petersburg on 28 August 1857. On that day, amid accompanying splendour, the music-loving Grand Duke Michail Nikolaievich (1832-1909), youngest brother of Tsar Alexander II, married Princess Caecilie of Baden (1839-91), daughter of Archduke Leopold of Baden. Johann Strauss, who at that time was giving a summer season of concerts in nearby Pavlovsk, used the opportunity occasioned by the event to enhance his already enviable popularity with the Russian royal family and composed the Caecilien-Polka in honour of the lovely young bride. Indeed, it is clear from a letter which Johann wrote in late July 1857 to Carl Haslinger, his publisher in Vienna, that the new polka had been prepared well in advance of the wedding (the fair copy of the full orchestral score made for the publisher's engraver is dated 9 August) and was enjoying success even before the royal couple's official engagement on 16August 1857. Sometime after performing the Caecilien-Polka in Pavlovsk, Johann despatched the work to the Austrian capital where his brother Josef conducted its Viennese première, together with that of Johann's waltz Telegraphische Depeschen (op. 195, Volume 28), at his own benefit concert in the Volksgartenon Sunday 18 October 1857. The Wiener Allgemeine Theaterzeitung (16.10.1857) remarked that both works have caused a sensation in St. Petersburg and are truly genial Viennese sounds full of verve and melody. Since tradition demanded that the German Princess Caecilie adopt a Russian name - Olga Feodorovna - before her marriage, so Johann's Caecilien-Polka also underwent a change of identity. On 8 December 1857 Carl Haslinger announced the publication of Strauss's Olga-Polka, on the title page of which is the inscription: Dedicated to her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Olga, née Princess of Baden. It was under this title, too, that Johann himself first conducted the work in Vienna at a concert in the Volksgarten on 1 November 1857, shortly after his return from Russia. Reporting on this event, the Wiener Allgemeine Theaterzeitung (3.11.1857) observed: The 'Olga-Polka' is a most delightful, fragrant musical bouquet, full of fine, gracious rhythms. Reporting on this event, the Wiener Allgemeine Theaterzeitung (3.11.1857) observed: The 'Olga-Polka' is a most delightful, fragrant musical bouquet, full of fine, gracious rhythms. String Orchestra - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.922638 Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by Aaron Meier. Romantic Period,World. Score and parts. 1 pages. Aaron Meier #5792369. Published by Aaron Meier (A0.922638). Original by Johann Strauss II Reduction to String Orchestra by Aaron Meier Part: Viola True to the original work by Strauss, this reduction for string orchestra features the ornaments and mystical writing that defines Strauss' polkas. There are optional percussion parts to be added at the discretion of the ensemble, however even without percussion the ensemble will sound full (the percussion acts as an ornament). Difficulty: Intermediate-advanced - advanced (best-suited for advanced student ensembles) --- Performance Notes: • Approximate length: 3:30 minutes • 1st Violins: In m.
