Woodwind Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1013010 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Na-Mara. Celtic,Folk,World. 1 pages. Na-Mara #5778645. Published by Na-Mara (A0.1013010). Danza Queimada: this traditional folk tune from Asturias (Spain) is arranged for two melody instruments and is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara.A ‘danza’ is a circle dance in two-time. Written in the the key of G, Danza Queimada can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. We came across this particular tune played by the Asturian band Niundes from their album Enxamás Ye Pa Siempres. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played andante or at a moderate speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes for a nice interplay between the melody instruments. Make sure the top line sings above the second line in the B section. As it is a dance–like tune, so try to keep the tempo even. The guitar accompaniment can be played with strummed chords.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. They have also used it alongside other tunes in workshops as a teaching and learning resource, introducing players to tunes from different parts of the Celtic world.Recordings of this and other tunes on SMP can be found on Na-Mara’s albums ‘Sisters & Brothers’, ‘Navajos & Pirates’ and ‘The Bite’Na-Mara have built an enviable reputation for fine story-telling and musicianship. They have performed in venues and festivals in the UK, Europe and China, and on BBC Radio 4, and a plethora of internet and local radio stations. They have consistently delivered new and exciting material to audiences. This includes their own take on traditional tunes from Brittany, France, Ireland, and the Spanish Celtic regions of Asturias and Galicia.Rob Garcia: mandolin, octave mandola, classical guitar & backing vocalsPaul McNamara: guitar & lead vocals Web site: http://www.na-mara.com/

'S Toigh Leam Fhìn Buntà ta: this is a traditional Strathspey folk tune from Scotland, transcribed and arranged for two melody instruments, and is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara. In the key of D, 'S Toigh Leam Fhìn Buntà ta can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. We came across this tune from an album by the Scots-Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis, and the song she sings is all about liking butter and potatoes. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played Allegro or at a moderate fast speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes a nice interplay between the melody instruments. Make sure the rhythm of the characteristic ‘Scotch snap’ is crisp and clean. The guitar accompaniment can be played with broken chords, or arpeggio style. This tune works well included as part of a ‘Ceilidh’ set.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. They have also used it alongside other tunes in workshops as a teaching and learning resource, introducing players to tunes from different parts of the Celtic world. Muiñeira de Boal: this traditional folk tune from Galicia (Spain) is arranged for two melody instruments and is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara. A jig-like dance tune, written in 6/8 in the Key of G, Muiñeira de Boal can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played at andante or at a medium fast or allegro speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes a nice interplay between the melody instruments. The double stops can be played on the mandolin or violin, flute etc can play one of the two notes. The last part is in unison and builds up the energy of the repeated A section for the last time – it is fun to speed up and end with a flourish, apart from that, try to keep the tempo even throughout. The guitar accompaniment should be played energetically with strummed chords. When we play this tune live we play it as the last tune of a three-part set, starting with our arrangement of the An Dro, followed by our own tune Canberra Bourrée.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. They have also used it alongside other tunes in workshops as a teaching and learning resource, introducing players to tunes from different parts of the Celtic world. Na-Mara #5970297. Published by Na-Mara (A0.1013014). Asturias: this is a popular and well-known traditional folk song from Asturias (Spain). Here we have arranged the tune for two melody instruments. It is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara. Written in 3/4 waltz time in the key of G, Asturias can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played andante or at a moderate speed, with a cantabile or singing style. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes for a nice interplay between the melody instruments although the second part is quite simple adding tremolo on the mandolin or long notes on the violin or flute make a nice variation. The guitar accompaniment can be played with broken chords, or gentle strumming.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. Published by Na-Mara (A0.1013015). Les Dancites: this traditional folk tune from Asturias (Spain) is arranged for two melody instruments and is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara. Written in 3/8 time in the key of A, Les Dancites can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. Performance tips: this is intermediate level piece played allegro or medium fast speed, however it is a waltz-like tempo so it doesn’t need to be played too fast. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes a nice interplay between the melody instruments. Both parts interplay and inter-wind so it is a good exercise to work on the balance between the two instruments, varying the dynamics on some of the repeated sections. The guitar accompaniment can be played with strummed chords. This make a nice set when it is coupled with our arrangement of the Spanish Asturian folk tune, La Casa‘l Señor Cura.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. Published by Na-Mara (A0.1013752). Schottische de Dimanche: this tune is one of a number of self-penned folk tunes by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara and is written in the style of a French Schottische. Written in the key of Dm, Schottische de Dimanche can be played on mandolin or on any C clef instrument (violin, ukulele, flute etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual player. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece and played at medium fast or allegro speed. The guitar accompaniment can be played with broken chords, or arpeggio style. When we play this live, we make a two-part set by starting with the Schottische de Dimanche, and finishing with our self-penned tune, Muiñeira del Año Nuevo.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment.

Na-Mara #5778641. Published by Na-Mara (A0.1013009). Entemediu de la Piedra: this traditional folk tune from Asturias (Spain) is arranged for two melody instruments and is one of a number of folk tune arrangements by the UK based folk duo Na-Mara. Written in 3/4 waltz time in the key of G, Entemediu de la Piedra can be played as a duet on two mandolins or on any C clef instruments (violins, ukuleles, flutes etc), with the guitar chords accompanying the individual players. We came across this tune from the playing of our friend, Asturian musician, Alberto Ablenado. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played andante or at a moderate speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes a nice interplay between the melody instruments. Look at varying the dynamics on some of the repeated sections. The guitar accompaniment can be played with broken chords, or arpeggio style. This is a nice opener for a set of tunes, and we sometime follow the Entemediu de la Piedra, of our own arrangement of a Spanish Asturian or Galician Muiñeira.Na-Mara (Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara) perform this instrumental piece on mandolin or octave mandola, with guitar accompaniment. Performance tips: this is beginner / intermediate level piece played at andante or at a medium fast or allegro speed. We have added a second melody part to the original tune, and this makes a nice interplay between the melody instruments. As it is a dance–like tune, try to keep the tempo even throughout. This make a nice set when it is coupled with our arrangement of the Spanish Asturian folk tune, Les Dancites

Full Orchestra - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.896909 Composed by Marcelo Torca. Arranged by Marcelo Torca. Contemporary,Instructional,Jazz,Pop,Rock. Score and parts. 508 pages. Marcelo Torca #2548811. Published by Marcelo Torca (A0.896909).
