Full Orchestra - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008374 Composed by Claude Debussy. Arranged by Arkady Leytush. 20th Century. Score and parts. 24 pages. Arkady Leytush #4849775. Published by Arkady Leytush (A0.1008374). Estampes (Engravings) is the title of the triptych of three pieces which Debussy put together in 1903. The first complete performance was given on 9 January 1904 in the Salle Erard, Paris, by the young Spanish pianist Ricardo Viñes, who was already emerging as the prime interpreter of the new French music of Debussy and Ravel. The first two pieces were completed in 1903, but the third derives from an earlier group of pieces from 1894, collectively titled Images, which remained unpublished until 60 years after Debussy’s death, when they were printed as Images (oubliées). Estampes marks an expansion of Debussy’s keyboard style: he was apparently spurred to fuse neo-Lisztian technique with a sensitive, impressionistic pictorial impulse under the impact of discovering Ravel’s Jeux d’eau, published in 1902. The opening movement, ‘Pagodes’, is Debussy’s first pianistic evocation of the Orient and is essentially a fixed contemplation of its object, as in a Chinese print. This static impression is partly caused by Debussy’s use of long pedal-points, partly by his almost constant preoccupation with pentatonic melodies which subvert the sense of harmonic movement. He uses such pentatonic fragments in many different ways: in delicate arabesques, in two-part counterpoint, in canon, harmonized in fourths and fifths and as an underpinning for pattering, gamelan-like ostinato writing. Altogether the piece reflects the decisive impression made on him by hearing Javanese and Cambodian musicians at the 1889 Paris Exposition, which he had striven for years to incorporate effectively in music. In its final bars the music begins to dissolve into elaborate filigree.Just as ‘Pagodes’ was his first Oriental piece, so ‘La soirée dans Grenade’ was the first of Debussy’s evocations of Spain-that preternatural embodiment of an ‘imaginary Andalusia’ which would inspire Manuel de Falla, the native Spaniard, to go back to his country and create a true modern Spanish music based on Debussyan principles. Debussy’s personal acquaintance with Spain was virtually non-existent (he had spent a day just over the border at San Sebastian) and it is possible that one model for the piece was Ravel’s Habanera. Yet he wrote of this piece (to his friend Pierre Louÿs, to whom it was dedicated), ‘if this isn’t the music they play in Granada, so much the worse for Granada!’-and there is no debate about the absolute authenticity of Debussy’s use of Spanish idioms here. Falla himself pronounced it ‘characteristically Spanish in every detail’. ‘La soirée dans Grenade’ is founded on an ostinato that echoes the rhythm of the habanera and is present almost throughout. Beginning and ending in almost complete silence, this dark nocturne of warm summer nights builds powerfully to its climaxes. The melodic material ranges from a doleful Moorish chant with a distinctly oriental character to a stamping, vivacious dance-measure, taking in brief suggestions of guitar strumming and perfumed Impressionist haze. There is even a hint of castanets near the end. The piece fades out in a coda that seems to distil all the melancholy of the Moorish theme and a last few distant chords of the guitar. ‘Jardins sous la pluie’ is based on the children’s song ‘Nous n’rons plus au bois’ (We shan’t go to the woods): its original 1894 form was in fact entitled Quelques aspects de ‘Nous n’rons plus au bois’. The two versions are really two distinct treatments of the same set of ideas, but in ‘Jardins sous la pluie’ Estampes the earlier piece has been entirely rethought. The whole conception is more impressionistic, and subtilized. The teeming semiquaver motion is more all-pervasive, the tunes (for Debussy has added a second children’s song for treatment, ‘Do, do, l’enfant do’) more elusive and tinged sometimes with melancholy or nostalgia. The ending of the piece is entirely new. What it loses, perha.

Criminal si tú me inculcas a caer. Cualquier cosa si lo ordena mi pasión.Un imperio conquistara por tu amor. Para hacer a su vasallo sucumbir.Rebuscando lo sublime en el dolor. Lo incendiara para verte sonreÃr.Mujer acude a mÃ. Estoy loco por ti.Si me enseñaste amar. También sabré olvidar.Tus labios de coral. Tu sabia excepcional.En el vano y mi ser, de mi ideal mujer, mujer.

Jmsgu3 #4595337. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.550100). Moonlight * лунный Ñвет * 月光 * Σεληνόφωτο * MÄ›sÃÄnà svit, Claude Debussy, 1890. Monumental impressionist masterpiece - perfect for Valentine's Day. Claude Debussy's Clair de Lune has been widely used in popular culture, particularly in film and television. It has significantly impacted modern culture, with a resurgence in its use after appearing in movies like Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The piece is favored for its ability to convey emotion and feelings without requiring lyrics, making it a popular choice for filmmakers. Clair de Lune has been featured in various movies, from Ocean's Eleven to Twilight, and has made an undeniable impact on filmmaking over the past 40 years. Its timeless beauty and emotional depth have led to reimaginings as pop songs and countless re-orchestrations, contributing to its ubiquity in cinema. Some notable movies and TV shows using Debussy's Clair de Lune include Ocean's Eleven (2001). Directed by Steven Soderbergh, this heist film showcases Clair de Lune during a pivotal scene where the characters gather to discuss their plans. Twilight: This popular film series has also featured Clair de Lune, contributing to the piece's impact on modern culture. The Shape of Water (2017): This film uses Clair de Lune to establish a dreamlike atmosphere. Moonlight (2016): Directed by Barry Jenkins, this film features Clair de Lune to embody the intense emotions of first love. These are just a few examples of the many movies and TV shows that have used Clair de Lune to enhance the emotional impact of their scenes, showcasing the composition's timeless beauty and evocative nature. Debussy was inspired by this poem by Paul Verlaine to compose this work: Your soul is a chosen landscape Where charming masquerades and dancers are promenading, Playing the lute and dancing, and almost Sad beneath their fantastic disguises. While singing in a minor key Of victorious love, and the pleasant life They seem not to believe in their own happiness And their song blends with the moonlight, With the sad and beautiful moonlight, Which sets the birds in the trees dreaming, And makes the fountains sob with ecstasy, The tall, slim water streams among the marble statues. Paul Verlaine, 1869.

2 orchestra - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q6445 New Version 1994. Composed by Hans Werner Henze. This edition: study score. Music Of Our Time. Downloadable, Study score. Duration 40 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6445. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6445). Symphony No. 6 was created in the late 1960s, and was first performed in Havana on 26. November 1969 by the Cuban National Orchestra under my direction. This symphony reflects not only the excited atmosphere of awakening during those years but also my efforts to include in the composition the large number of new human and artistic stimuli that I experienced at that time. So the banjo starts to play a Vietnamese song of freedom (Stars in the Night), later the first bars of Mikis Theodorakis hymn of freedom is heard. The second movement is based on the poem Fe de erratas (errata sheet) by Miguel Barnet. In the original version, the three parts of the symphony merge without interruption. In the revised version, I separated them to make it easier for the audience to register the caesuras which are also internal caesuras as regards content. Apart from strengthening the string sound, the most significant alternation in comparison to the first version is that I fully composed all of the aleatoric passages and pitches which originally were to be freely improvised as was the fashion at that time. Thus I wanted to free them the realm of chance and indeterminacy and to bring them back into my artistic control. - Hans Werner HenzeOrchester I: 2 (2. auch Picc.) · 0 · Engl. Jazz Combo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.970739 Composed by Eduardo Arolas. Arranged by Mike Strand. Concert,Jazz,Latin,World. Score and parts. 3 pages. Michael M. Strand #4895835. Published by Michael M. Strand (A0.970739). Arranged by Mike Strand, ASCAPâ??This is a lead sheet for a jazz or Latin combo or ensemble. It may serve as the basis for a variety of arrangements, improvisations, or contrafacts. The audio sample is a jazz bossa nova iReal Pro accompaniment, combined with the lead sheet melody in Finale PrintMusic. In this arrangement, you will hear acoustic guitar and violin, often heard in tango ensembles in the early 20th century. This bossa nova is inspired by Eduardo Arolasâ??s never-published tango, Volcán (Volcano). At least itâ??s never been published according to the todotango.com web site. Eduardo Arolas is a famous tango composer who is well documented on that web site. Also on that web site, you can listen to Osvaldo Requenaâ??s piano performance of Volcán from Arolasâ??s original piano sheets (written circa 1917). Years ago, I developed and wrote a tango quintet arrangement of Volcán by listening carefully to Requenaâ??s recorded piano performance on the web site. My quintet arrangement, in turn, was my source for writing this bossa nova arrangement. So, now Volcán has finally been published, but as a bossa nova! Wherever Señor Arolas may be, I hope he understands. In this bossa nova arrangement, I believe I've preserved the spirit of Arolas's original tango.Without knowing exactly what was in Eduardo Arolas's mind when he wrote the original tango, this is my personal idea of the message behind the music:Introduction: Let me tell you a story about a volcano that happened long ago.Part A (bars 5-20): It's a sad tale about human helplessness and suffering in the face of natural catastrophe.Part B (bars 21-36): The people living in a town below a volcanic peak were going about business, leisure, and play, experiencing the ordinary cares and pleasures of life.Part C (bars 41-52): One day, without warning, the volcano erupted, with smoke, falling hot rocks and ash, and hot lava flows. Some folks got away, but others were killed, buried or injured, and all that was left of the town was devastation, suffering, and, eventually, calm.Part A' (bars 53-end): A sad tale, but may we learn from it, and may the souls of the poor victims rest in peace. If you listen to and read the lyrics of Arolas's great tango, La Cachila, or listen to another superb tango of his, El Marne, you will witness further his talent and skill in composing dramatic music. My piano arrangement of La Cachila is for sale on this web site.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1023644 Composed by Ben Ledochowski. 20th Century,Contemporary,New Age. Score. 12 pages. Ben Ledochowski #6217585. Published by Ben Ledochowski (A0.1023644). The Dreaming Sea was my first paid composition commission, a piece I wrote in April 2020. For the composition commission, my author friend Sterling Wisniewski requested me to score a short story of his, with the score I provided being expected to tell the story of the words through music and accompany original artwork. His short story is included as follows:A cardboard boat sifts the surface of the sea. A little girl, eyes closed, arms wide and crowned with a paper hat, stands at the front of the deck. Unsinkable - that's what she was. Her imagination bounced the boat on the tension of theworld, almost like it wasn't there. Her eyes were closed, yet she saw everything. On shore, a crowd of dirty sailors went about their work. Nasty mouths swore and harsh fists carried their cargo to their strong, dirty boat. A boy, no taller than a barrel, was in the midst of the buff shoulders and fit forearms. He peaked between the muscle mountains. He saw her. Eyes closed and arms wide, sailing away from the Sun and into the appearing Moon. The wind flapped her hair like the sail of a boat. The boy pried between the men and ran to the end of the dock, stuck his flat hand over his forehead to see. The boy could've sworn that she saw him. He could've sworn the boat swooped in a foot from his face. He could've sworn he heard her giggle. If anything, he thought he knew she saw him.The boy's father, the largest of all the men, wearing a real sailor's hat, gripped the boy's shoulder, spun him away from view of the cardboard boat, and without a word dragged him to the solid wooden ship in front of them. The robust crew pulled ropes and pushed out to set sail towards the setting Sun in the west. The boy soon slipped out of his father's grip and ran to the edge of the boat. Standing on his tiptoes, he hovered his eyes over the dock. There she was - eyes closed and arms wide, the wind flowing through her hair while her cardboard boat skipped the seas like a stone. he could've sworn she was thinking about him. he could've sworn he would see her again. He could've&n.

German • English. The making of El Cimarrón began in about 1986, with a conversation I had with Hans Magnus Enzensberger about the difficulties of writing political songs today that would go beyond the achievements of Eisler, Weill and Dessau in this field. It seemed to me that I might try to tackle the problem by writing a cycle with a variety of musical materials out of which perhaps something novel might emerge in a new and different context, almost by chance. Enzensberger told me of the recent publication of a biography by Estéban Montejo, an old Afrocuban who lived in Havana and who recalled his adolescence as a slave, and suggested that I should set episodes from this book that he, Enzensberger, would select for my experimentation. El Cimarrón, however, did not turn into a cycle of songs and was, indeed, not even intended as such - what came out of the work is a new form of theatrical music making. Sung here by Colleen McGrath and Dennis Jesse as her husband Harold. Synopsis: This is the interesting story of Margaret. So begins the screwball one-act chamber opera about an emotionally abused housewife, and the extent she goes to change the situation life has dealt her. Not even the pianist is allowed to sit by and idly accompany Margaret's journey into self-empowerment. Is it a battle between the sexes? Certainly not. It's more like power, domination and the pure thrill of ordering others around. ARTISTS NEEDED: Soprano (Coloratura) Margaret, Harold (Baritone)ORCHESTRATION: Picc, fl12, ob12, cl12, bsn, hrn12, tpt, trm, timp, perc (or drum set), pno, strings. (Full Score in Concert Pitch, Individual Vocal Parts are not included. Please purchase the piano vocal score, sold separately.)Great vehicle for young artists. First premiered at DePauw University, Greencastle Indiana in 1987. Later performed by the New Jersey Concert Opera in 2004. Combine with either J.N. Holland's other one act operas The One Upstairs (comedy) and O Holy Art (tragedy) to make a complete opera evening entitled A New York Triptych All require same type of singers (with some addition and chorus) and same size of orchestra. Other operas also available and published, sold separately. Please note: Although this is a farce, the orchestral should have solid players, an experienced conductor and enough rehearsal time should be given so that the piece won't fall apart in performance. Due to the comedic element, there are constantly shifting tempos and effects that a community or amateur orchestra/conductor might have difficulty with.
