Students also develop some of the many skills involved in instrumental playing faster than other skills.The Mixed Abilities School Ensemble Series for Easy String Orchestra has the flexibility to allow pupils of different standards to play together in one ensemble (up to five parts).Each piece has a total of 5 different parts which are fully interchangeable between violins, violas and cellos (double basses can double the cello parts). So whether you have 15 violins and a viola, or 3 violins, or 4 cellos or whatever, the pieces will still work well together. All parts are provided for all instruments.Part 5 uses long notes on open strings. The other parts gradually increase in difficulty up to Part 1, which uses first and second positions. The teacher should select appropriate parts for the players in the group.I GOT THE BLUES is the second piece in this series, and uses typical Blues characteristics such as syncopation and swung quavers. It also includes a section in which any player can improvise; suggested notes to use in the solo are provided along with backing figures.Please listen to the mp3 file, which is an electronic example of the piece being played with 4 violin parts and a cello on Part 5.The purchaser of this product may print as many copies of the parts as required in order for the piece to work successfully with the ensemble. Joy to the World with The Hallelujah Chorus ♫ piano solo arrangement by Stephen R Dalrymple ♫ based on the public domain hymn by Isaac Watts and Lowell Mason (from George Frederick Handel) ♫ Isaac Watts published the lyrics in 1719. We credit Isaac Watts for helping to popularize “hymns†over “Psalms†in Protestant churches in the 18th Century. The texts of “Psalms†came directly from the Bible; “hymns†were more interpretive and reflective. Whether to allow the use of hymns rather than Psalms in church was a controversial topic of the 17th and 18th centuries! ♫ Watts used Psalm 96 and 98 with Genesis 3 to create the lyrics of Joy to the World. For over a hundred years, the lyrics were sung to various Psalm tunes. ♫ Lowell Mason published our current version with the melody ANTIOCH in 1848. He attributed the melody to George Frederick Handel by Lowell. We can find several fragments of this melody in Handel’s music, there is no complete statement of the melody in Handel. And so ANTIOCH is now attributed to Mason. ♫ The Hallelujah Chorus serves as the introduction and the conclusion of this arrangement. It was first published within Messiah, an oratorio by George Frederick Handel in 1741. The lyrics were created by Charles Jennens from the King James Bible. ♫ “The Lord is come†is the present perfect tense. It seems archaic, yet the present perfect tense has a distinct meaning. It points to a current action that is sustained. It isn’t just that Christ came in the past. This is My Father’s World♫ piano solo arrangement by Stephen R Dalrymple♫ lyrics by Malthie Babcock with a traditional English melody adapted by Franklin Sheppard♫ Malthie Davenport Babcock, a pastor in upstate New York, was an athletic man who loved to walk near Lake Ontario and the Niagara Escarpment. He often told his wife that he was “going out to see the Father’s world.†This phrase prompted the title for one of his original poems. His wife published his poems after his death in 1901 (age 42.) ♫ In 1915 Franklin Shepherd, his friend, adapted Babcock’s poem and an English folk tune to create the hymn. Shepherd named the melody TERRA BEATA (Blessed Earth). ♫ The original folk tune appears in the opening notes of the Shire Theme by Howard Shore in the Lord of the Rings Film Series.♫ The last stanza used in this video is seldom found in hymnbooks. In order to give the music a feeling of authenticity, the composer researched the scales that Jewish people have used in the distant past. Present day cantors use scales that are centuries, probably millennia old. Two of these, the Ukrainian Dorian and the Magein Avot (along with the Mixolydian and Phrygian modes) form the harmonic vocabulary for Movement 2.♫ Ruth’s story is dramatic and a good vehicle for a tone poem. The first movement summarizes Ruth’s story of coming to faith and her loyalty and kindness to Naomi. The second movement dramatizes Ruth’s devotion to Naomi and the love story of Ruth and Boaz that results from it.♫ It was Boaz who first voiced the metaphor of a mother bird protecting her baby birds under her wings and how God does that for us. Boaz’ great-grandson, King David, used this imagery in 5 of his Psalms.♫ This .pdf file includes 2 score choices • Letter size score for piano • 10 inch tablet size score for piano (Tell your computer which pages you want to print.
