Instrumental Solo,Pipe Organ - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1251258 By Audra Telksnytė. By Juozas Naujalis. Arranged by Balys Vaitkus. Classical,Religious,Romantic Period. Individual part. 2 pages. Nacionaline vargonininku asociacija #845535. Published by Nacionaline vargonininku asociacija (A0.1251258). 14 Preludes, Op. 20. Fourteen pieces for organ, dedicated to a “beloved friend, Fr. Teodoras Brazys,†presents the largest collection of works for this instrument in Naujalis’ oeuvre. Like Naujalis, Brazys was the graduate of the Church Music School in Regensburg. These fourteen preludes for organ appear to be written in expression of deep affinity and gratitude to a like-minded friend who shared similar values. Some of Naujalis’ organ preludes have been included in music collections abroad – by Mieczysław Surzyński in Warsaw and Joseph Joubert in Paris. Juozas Naujalis (1869–1934) – Lithuanian composer and organist. In 1892, he was appointed organist and choir leader at the Kaunas Cathedral, a position he held until his death. Naujalis became actively involved in organizing local musical societies and institutions. As an outcome of his groundbreaking work, a number of important private entities, such as the first boys’ choir in Lithuania based at the Archcathedral Basilica in Kaunas, courses and the school for organists (1911), the first legal Lithuanian bookshop and music publishing house in Kaunas (1905–1912), the first music magazine Vargonininkas (The Organist) and calendars for organists published in Lithuanian (1909–1910), and the music school in Kaunas (1919), have been launched. In 1908, he founded the Children Society and St. Gregory Society for Organists, which was later reorganised into St. Cecilia Society for church musicians (1924). Naujalis was also the first Lithuanian composer to achieve recognition abroad. His church music was published in Regensburg, Warsaw, St. Petersburg, Leipzig and Paris. In recognition of his merits in the field of church music he was made Commander of the Order of the Crown of Italy in Rome, in 1929.A total of 29 organ pieces by Naujalis were recorded at the Archcathedral Basilica in Kaunas in 2019.

Piano Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1096204 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Classical,Standards,Traditional,Wedding. Score. 4 pages. Jmsgu3 #700167. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1096204). Score: 4 pages. Duration: 2:27. The famous Pachelbel Canon arranged for Solo Piano. A great choice for weddings & receptions! Pachelbel's Canon Pachelbel's Canon is, in fact, the traditional title for a composition by the German composer Johann Pachelbel. Other names for the work include namely: Canon and Gigue for 3 violins and basso continuo, Canon and Gigue in D, and of course Canon in D. We do not know when or why in particular it was written. The oldest copy is surprisingly from the 19th century. It is important to realize that it was a common routine for organists to practice improvisation on the chord progression underlying the canon. Pachelbel originally scored the Canon notably for three violins and continuo. He also in fact paired the Canon with a gigue. The movements are homotonal, to clarify, both are in the key of D major. History In due time, Pachelbel's Canon went out of style and remained in virtual oblivion for centuries. The Jean-François Paillard chamber orchestra, however, recorded an arrangement of it in 1968. As a result, it gained approval. Many ensembles began likewise to record the piece in the 1970s and by the 1980s became ubiquitous as background music. From the 1970s to the early 2000s, pop songs correspondingly used elements of the piece. The chord progression, in particular, was used this way. Also, since the 1980s, it has been not only wildly popular for weddings, but also for funeral ceremonies in the USA and Europe. Pachelbel Background Johann Pachelbel (1653 –1706) was a German composer, as well as an organist. He was furthermore instrumental in bringing the south German organ school to its apex. He wrote a large body of music, both sacred and, equally important, secular. In particular, he uniquely helped develop the chorale prelude and fugue. For this, he has, in fact, earned a rightful place in the company of the most significant composers of the mid-Baroque period. Works Pachelbel's music was certainly popular. With this in mind, he also consequently had many pupils. His music expressly developed into a model for south German composers. Nowadays, Pachelbel is most famous, particularly for the Canon in D, as well as the F minor Chaconne, the Toccata in E minor, and of course the Hexachordum Apollinis, a set of variations for the keyboard. Influences Johann Jakob Froberger and Johann Caspar Kerll were south German composers who significantly influenced Pachelbel. Furthermore, he was especially influenced by Italians such as Frescobaldi and Poglietti. He frequently preferred an articulate, simple contrapuntal style that highlighted clarity. His music is markedly less extravagant and harmonically adventurous than that of Dieterich Buxtehude. However, as a point often overlooked, like Buxtehude, Pachelbel experimented with different instrumental combinations in his chamber music. Legacy All in all, Pachelbel was most famous as a composer for the keyboard. He composed over two hundred pieces specifically for the instrument. Pachelbel was also surprisingly a prolific composer of vocal music. All in all, about a hundred vocal works survive, including 40 or so large-scale works.

Michael Robert Harding #960002. Published by Michael Robert Harding (A0.1375430). 'Prelude' for Organ is an approximately nine minute long work that harkens back to the twentieth century French organ tradition. Using an eight-note mode based in F# major, the work is split into four sections: a very slow meditative passage in five voices, a moderately fast development that culminates in a powerful crescendo before a recapitualtion of the beginning sees the piece out. This work is of advanced difficulty, and would suit a programme of contemporary works.

For best results, a smooth, rich pad sound should be used, especially for the beginning. Also available, by searching Stacey Plays Hymns and the song title on this site, are the following versions:Full piano and vocal arrangement in D major [original key]Full piano and vocal arrangement in F major [for higher voices, a true soprano range]Lead Sheet in several useful keysPiano solo for a perfect matching prelude or postlude or communion interlude. For other formats including large print, or extended choral harmony versions, please write me at staceyplayshymns@gmail.com and I'll be glad to make them especially for you. Organ - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1398987 Composed by Vidas Pinkevicius. Christian,Contemporary,Easter,Religious,Sacred. Score. 3 pages. Vidas Pinkevicius #982264. Published by Vidas Pinkevicius (A0.1398987). This is a festive prelude for Easter time based on the tune of Thine Is the Glory (JUDAS MACCABAEUS) by G.F. Handel in D Major. The piece can be played on an organ with one manual and pedals. The tune is heard in the right hand part and the left hand and pedals play supporting but not synchronic ostinato patterns. The entire piece is woven around colorful harmonies. This composition will be very effective in liturgical organ playing and recital programs whenever joyful music is desired. Dedicated to Rolf Wassens.

Piano Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1355945 Composed by John Burkett. Arranged by John Burkett. Classical,Patriotic,Praise & Worship. Score. 7 pages. John Burkett #940668. Published by John Burkett (A0.1355945). My Prelude on the hymn tune Materna (O Beautiful for Spacious Skies) is intended for church pianists looking for interesting arrangements of hymns familiar to their congregations. Three statements of the tune convey three entirely different moods. The first is in G-flat major and creates an ethereal mood with its accompaniment of glissandi scales in the upper range of the keyboard. The second is a straightforward duo with a flowing scalar accompaniment in the key of F major. A bridge section gradually increases the rhythmic pace, while simultaneouly increasing the dynamic level to fortissimo. This sets the tone for the final grandiose statement in B-flat major with the melody played in octaves in the bass below a rapid scalar accompaniment in the right hand. The expected bombastic conclusion is subverted by a rising whole-tone scale in G-flat marked subito piano. The final phrase returns to the key and mood of the beginning with its upwardly rising glissandi. I have provided a full-length recording to aid the prospective buyer in the decision-making process. I encourage you to search the Sheet Music Plus or the Sheet Music Direct website for other hymn arrangements of mine, some for organ and others for piano.

Composed by J. S. Bach - C. Gounod. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Praise & Worship, Easter, Wedding, Bar or Bat Mitzvah, Funeral. Score, Solo Part. 6 pages. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications
This ever-popular piece is often performed at weddings, funerals and many other solemn
ceremonial events. It has always been a favorite among instrumental players and often used in
recitals or concert encores. This arrangement by Colin Kirkpatrick has been transposed into B
flat to feature the middle to upper range of the saxophone. In is ideal for the intermediate
player who can manage a top “b” with confidence.
In 1853, the well-known French composer Charles Gounod added his own melody over a rippling
keyboard accompaniment which was a slightly adapted version of the Prelude No. 1 in C major,
BWV846, from Book I of J. S. Bach's The Well-Tempered Clavier, published in 1722. The title of
the “combined” piece was Méditation sur le Premier Prélude de Piano de S. Bach. Gounod’s
original arrangement transposed Bach’s keyboard part from C major into F major and it was
scored for violin (or cello), organ and piano. In 1859, the French music publishing company
Jacques-Léopold Heugel brought out a vocal version based on the familiar Latin text. Ave Maria
(Hail Mary) is a traditional Catholic prayer addressed to the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus.
The version of Bach's prelude which Gounod used included the so-called "Schwencke measure" (m.
27 in this arrangement), a measure (bar) allegedly added by the German composer and pianist
Christian Friedrich Gottlieb Schwencke (1767-1822) in an attempt to correct what was considered
a harmonic weakness in the original. Whether there actually was a “harmonic weakness” (or
possibly an error in the manuscript) remains a matter of conjecture but the fact remains that
the most familiar-sounding version of this piece, recorded countless times by both singers and
instrumentalists includes this Schwencke measure. It is therefore included in this arrangement.
Some published arrangements show minor inconsistencies in the rhythm of the melody. This
arrangement uses the familiar rhythm of the Ave Maria version as it appeared in the 1859
edition.

Published by jmsgu3 (A0.552083). The famous wedding classic arranged for Solo Viola.Duration: 2:12Score: 2 pages. The famous Pachelbel Canon arranged for Solo Viola.
