A place near Lake Superior where temperatures were often in the negatives, snowfall was aplenty, and the morning dew would freeze everything in a sheet of sheer ice. After moving to an area with more wind and less snowfall, and even less trees, forests, and lakes, I began to lament the winter that I had grown up with. Return Me Home to Frost Laden Trees is an homage to the snowstorms I would watch from warm inside the house, staring outside the front window and into the one lamp on our street, where the snow swirled around the forest behind it. This arrangement is specifically for Piano, pared down for more accessable play compared to its orchestral counterpart.

The first out of four movement of the work Liz And The Blue Bird arranged for woodwind ensemble.Liz And The Blue Bird is a four-movement work based on a fictional German fairytale from a movie, both of the same name. Liz is the name of a lonely girl who sells bread at a bakery and socializes with the forest animals. After a big thunderstorm, she finds an unnamed blue-haired girl lying outside. She quickly takes her into her home and, the two become close friends. After a while, Liz started noticing the girl sneaking out at night and coming back before dawn. Liz noticed how the girl would look at the birds freely flying in the sky when they fed the animals. Liz becomes conflicted with her emotions but eventually decides to release her from the cage that is her home. Liz confronts the girl and tells her that she needs to be free and spread her wings. Although distraught by Liz's decision, the girl comes to respect it. It is one of the most unusual and innovative concertos ever written, as it combines the solo violin with an orchestra in a dramatic and expressive way. The concerto is in the form of an operatic aria, with the violinist portraying a character who sings about his love for a woman. The first movement is lyrical and tender, while the second movement is lively and playful. The third movement is a stormy and passionate finale, where the violinist confronts his rival for the woman’s affection. Spohr wrote this concerto in 1816, when he was already famous as a composer and conductor.This edition presents the authentic Clarinet in C and Horn in A parts, alongside alternative versions for clarinet in B flat and horns in F.The PDF contains the score and all parts.
