This beautifultraditional hymn has been spread through all ages and loved by all Christians.Now with the new arrangements Rev.Chien wrote for choir, it shows adifferent style. Especially in the middle part, Rev. Chien added a newmelody that cleverly and vividly describe the scene of walking through thevalley of the shadow of the death. His arrangement for the last part iswonderful too, bringing out the deep feel of comfort and peace in the presenceof Lord. Rev. Chien has won the Japanese NHK International ComposingCompetition. He has strong and solid theory of Western traditional musicand good at adding a flavor of oriental mystery to his music, so hismusic pieces are particularly charming and have a unique style thatdifferentiates him from ordinary composers.
