This is an arrangement for solo instrument and piano pitched at around the level of ABRSM Grade 4/5 for most instruments. The range of notes is very compact with the difficulty steming from the often complicated rhythms and also the opening statement of the main theme is unaccompanied requiring the soloist to play with confidence and accuracy. The use of syncopated rhythms makes this an excellent repertoire piece.Heaven Is a Place on Earth is a single by American singer Belinda Carlisle from her second studio album, Heaven on Earth (1987). Written by Rick Nowels and Ellen Shipley, the song was released as the lead single from the Heaven on Earth album on September 14, 1987, and it reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 on December 5, 1987, becoming Carlisle's only US chart-topper to date. A month later it peaked at number one in the United Kingdom, where it held the top spot of the UK Singles Chart for two weeks. In Australia it peaked at number 2. It is considered to be Carlisle's signature song.The song was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance in 1988, but lost out to Whitney Houston's I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me).

Arranged for Brass Quartet, Jesus Christ Is Risen Today was first written in Latin titled Surrexit Christus hodie, as a Bohemian hymn in the 14th century by an unknown author on manuscripts written in Munich and Breslau. In Latin, it had eleven verses. It was first translated into English in 1708 by John Baptist Walsh to be included in his Lyra Davidica (Collection of Divine Songs and Hymns). The verses of the hymn were revised in 1749 by John Arnold. Initially the hymn only had three verses translated with just the first verse being a direct translation; in 1740 Charles Wesley (one of the founders of Methodism) added a fourth verse to the hymn as an alternative, which was later adopted into the hymn as part of it. The hymn is also noted for having Alleluia as a refrain after every line.The hymn is set to a piece of music entitled Easter Hymn which was composed in the Lyra Davidica for Jesus Christ Is Risen Today. There was a later version of Easter Hymn composed by William Henry Monk which is also used for Jesus Christ Is Risen Today. Some denominations of Christianity often just use one while some use both. The hymn is sometimes confused with Christ the Lord Is Risen Today, which was written by Wesley. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.810733). Cornet solos are an important part of the American Brass tradition. The Southern Cross is one of Clarke's most well known Cornet solos and was written in 1911, dedicated to the Australians and first recorded by the composer with Orchestra the next year  for Victor Records. During 1911, Clarke was the solo Cornetist of the Sousa Band while the band was on a world tour that included visits to South Africa, Tazmania and Australia from March through to August. Below is a photo of the Sousa band from their 1911 tour. Clarke is sitting in the front row 5th in from the right with his moustache and his Cornet on his lap. He assuredly composed this solo to perform on that tour. The Southern Cross is a constellation that is only seen from the southern hemisphere and features the five stars of the Cross from the 1901 design of the Australian flag. This 5-minute virtuosic arrangement by Geoffrey Bergler features not only the Cornet, but a bit of all the other four members of the Brass Quintet. Instrumentation is for: 2 Trumpets in B-flat (Trumpet 1 solo, Trumpet 2 also plays Piccolo) Horn, Trombone Tuba/Bass Trombone The sound track features Mr. Bergler from his student days as Cornet soloist.

The single has peaked at number one in Australia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, and Singapore, while peaking in the top 10 in Canada, Indonesia, Ireland, Norway, the United States and Vietnam. Brenton Blanchet of Complex described the song as a chilling piano ballad, while Jon Caramanica of The New York Times considered it splendid and striking. Andrea See of Bandwagon Asia felt that the stripped-down sound of the song foreshadows Joji's more mature sonic territory in contrast to his previous electronic material. This arrangement has been scored for Brass Quintet and is an easy blow for any quintet.

The Magnificent Seven is a 1960 American Western film directed by John Sturges and starring Yul Brynner, Eli Wallach, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and James Coburn. The film is an Old West-style remake of Akira Kurosawa's 1954 Japanese film Seven Samurai. Bernstein's score has frequently been quoted in the media and popular culture. Starting in 1963, the theme was used in commercials in the U.S. for Marlboro cigarettes for many years. A similar-sounding (but different) tune was used for Victoria Bitter beer in Australia. The theme was included in the James Bond film Moonraker.

Autonomous since 2000, it voted for independence in 2019, which is scheduled to be obtained before 2027. The anthem of the autonomous territory was adopted in 2018 and will most likely be adopted as the new nation’s anthem once independence is achieved. Titled “My Bougainvilleâ€, the melody is that of the Australian patriotic song “The Song of Australia†(one of four songs considered on a national plebiscite for that country’s anthem, but was rejected), the lyricist is unknown. It is not uncommon for anthems in the Pacific region to use the tune of a patriotic song or hymn of a current or former colonizer (as evidenced by the “Pacific hymn†genre of anthems); Australia governed Bougainville as a part of Papua New Guinea from after World War I to Papua New Guinea’s independence in 1975.
