Cello Solo - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.596489 Composed by Juan MarÃa Solare. 20th Century,Contemporary,Standards,World. Individual part. 12 pages. Juan Maria Solare #3088085. Published by Juan Maria Solare (A0.596489). Paregamutiún (Friendship): Four melodies of Armenian connotations for cello solo.I am not Armenian, but these melodies could be: it is an invented folklore. Nevertheless, I never wanted to compose an imitation of real Armenian music; for that I should live in Armenia a few years, learn the language, soak in a couple of millennia of culture and impregnate myself with the current problems. And yet it would be doubtful that the result would sound authentic. Neither I was interested in composing some sounding touristic postcards. These melodies reflect, yes, how a thankful being sees the Armenian from outside. And this is what grants them legitimacy.About the titles:The general title of the piece, Paregamutiún, is translatable as friendship. Sometimes it is transliterated Baregamutyun (as a certain station of the subway in Yerevan). The single titles of each piece refers to a lake, a mountain, a mythical patriarch and a tree of Armenia:1) Sevanavank: Monastery of the Black Lake, founded in 874. The name Sevan means literally Black Van, referring to a lake called Van. It is said that long ago the Armenians came from areas next to the lake Van towards the lake Sevan, they noticed that its waters were dark, almost black, but they reminded them of the lake Van, and therefore called it black Van: Sevan.2) Hayk is the patriarch of the foundational myth of the Armenian nation, and the original name of the country (Hayastán: land of the Armenians); some sources affirm that he was great great grandson or great-great-great grandson of Noah.3) Dziranà Dzar: apricot tree, the Armenian national fruit. Dzar is tree and dzirán is apricot, the obvious phonetic similitude seems to underline a strong semantic proximity between both concepts. The letter Dz is a complex phoneme similar to a smooth th.4) Masis is the Armenian name of mount Ararat, where -according to the Bible- ended up Noah's Arch after the Flood (Genesis 8:4).www.JuanMariaSolare.com

String Orchestra - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.942953 Composed by Geoffrey Peterson. Contemporary. Score and parts. 43 pages. Geoffrey Peterson #4267231. Published by Geoffrey Peterson (A0.942953). Link to complete recording: https://soundcloud.com/geoffrey-peterson/sets/the-edmund-fitzgerald-concerto On November 9th, 1975, the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald left port in Superior, Wisconsin. The 729-foot-long iron ore carrier, loaded with 26 thousand tons of taconite pellets for the auto industry, was bound for Detroit. Earlier that day, the weather service had issued a gale warning. This was not unusual, considering that gale storms are typical during November on Lake Superior. The Fitzgerald’s Captain, Ernest McSorley, and her 29-member crew headed northeast unaware of the maelstrom they would soon encounter. At around 2 a.m., Bernie Cooper, captain of the Arthur M. Andersen, another freighter which was following a few miles behind the Fitzgerald, radioed Captain McSorley to consult with him about the worsening storm. They had both decided to take a more northerly route along the Canadian shore, which they hoped would provide some shelter from the violent gale winds and waves. The Fitzgerald’s long-range radar stopped working the following day and was needed in order to avoid Six-Fathom Shoal, a shallow area of Lake Superior that could rupture the ship’s hull. McSorley soon radioed the Anderson to report that the Fitzgerald had sustained some topside damage...a fence rail down, two vents lost or damaged, and a starboard list. A list meant that the Fitzgerald was taking on too much water and was causing it to lean to one side. The short-range radar also stopped working, and the radio direction beacon from nearby Whitefish Point vanished. This would make it impossible for the Fitzgerald to reach the lee waters of Whitefish Bay and escape the 80 mph winds churning 20 to 30-foot waves. At 7:10 p.m. that night, First Mate Morgan Clark of the Andersen radioed the Fitzgerald to see how they were doing. Captain McSorley replied, We’re holding our own. This was the last contact anyone would have with the Fitzgerald. Shortly thereafter, the Edmund Fitzgerald disappeared from the Anderson’s radar screen. All 29 of her crew were lost on November 10th, 1975. The Edmund Fitzgerald chronicles the tragic final voyage of the well-known shipwreck in 4 movements; Embarkment, The Gales, Six-Fathom Shoal (We’re holding our own.) and Entombment-Dirge. The concerto makes use of several musical quotes. The first is Spanish Ladies, an English sea chantey, which appears in both the 1st and 3rd movements. The second is the funeral march theme from the 2nd movement of Beethoven’s 3rd Symphony which is heard in the 4th movement of the concerto. In addition, a chime is rung 29 times during the final bars of the concerto to memorialize the men who lost their lives. The Crew of the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald: Michael E. Armagost, Frederick J. Beetcher, Thomas D. Bentsen, Edward F. Bindon, Thomas D. Borgeson, Oliver J. Champeau, Nolan S. Church, Ransom E. Cundy, Thomas E. Edwards, Russell G. Haskell, George J. Holl, Bruce L. Score. 9 pages. Cheryl Prazak #884869. Published by Cheryl Prazak (A0.1294494). “Cast your bread upon the waters†- Ecclesiastes 11:1Lyricist Cheryl Prazak blends eclectic and nostalgic lyric themes with lively renditions of traditional tunes in her new release “Hearts Aflame.â€Working with arranger/producer Jon Burr of arrangerforhire.com, and the wonderful vocalist Sammie Jane, these tracks were created for your enjoyment in the celebration of Christ. The album title and song Hearts Aflame were inspired by the 2023 Asbury Revival at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky.Bounteous River of MercyBounteous river, river of mercy,Flowed from your life’s blood, flowed fast away.Streams never ceasing since in the Garden,Streams of the Lamb’s blood, unto this day.Rivers of crimson, washing as pure snow,Ribbons of crimson, spilled by God’s Lamb.Abraham offered up the chosen son,But as a ransom, God sent a ram.I offered my sin, You sent a Savior;I offered my pain, You sent your Son.I offered my guilt, You spilled your life’s blood; You gave me hope when I deserved none.First Fruit of Heaven, returned to the Father;First Fruit of Heaven, rending the veil.Life lies before me, death is behind me;Living in your Light, death can’t assail.Darkness is gone now, You are my sunshine;Raised in your likeness, I walk in Light. You are my High Priest, e’er pleading for me;You are my Counsel, setting things right. In Jesus’ blood now, is life everlasting; In life’s death shadow, there is no fear.Walking in your Light, calmness surrounds me;Lord of creation, my heart’s desire.

Published by Mel Bay Publications - Digital Sheet Music (M0.31054MEB). ISBN 9781513477107. 8.75X11.75 inches. The island of Cape Breton and its close neighbor, Prince Edward Island in eastern Canada are home to two of the oldest, strongest, and most vibrant fiddling traditions in North America. Cape Breton gave rise to a professional Celtic-based fiddling scene to rival anything coming out of Scotland and Ireland. Prince Edward Island’s traditional fiddlers developed lively, idiosyncratic styles every bit as musically compelling as anything you’ll hear on archival recordings of iconic American old-time fiddlers from the Appalachians. This book features 136 tunes from these two distinct but related fiddling traditions, collected by the author directly from master fiddlers, and arranged note-for-note for clawhammer banjo with as much flavor and nuance as possible. These settings of reels, hornpipes, jigs, marches, strathspeys, airs, and other fiddle tunes are all eminently playable and fully benefit from the author’s half-century of experience playing banjo, arranging for banjo, writing banjo instruction books, and researching fiddle-music traditions. Here’s what you’ll find in this volume. 136 fiddle tunes arranged for clawhammer banjo in clear tablatureOver 40 musical examples and exercisesInstruction on basic and advanced techniquesFingering diagrams and detailed fingering suggestionsA systematic approach to playing up-the-neckA thorough treatment of playing triplets, grace notes, and other characteristic ornaments in clawhammerGuides on how to approach playing various kinds of fiddle tunesA framework for understanding the modes encountered in fiddle musicHistorical notes on the tunes and musical traditionsBiographical information on source fiddlers169 audio illustrations available online Note: Most audio illustrations for the tunes in this book are drawn directly from the author’s CDs, Devil in the Kitchen, Frails and Frolics, Island Boy, and Northern Banjo.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.723296 Composed by Mary Ann Baker, H.R. Palmer. Arranged by Garrett Breeze. Easter,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 7 pages. Lagom Music #6093717. Published by Lagom Music (A0.723296). This arrangement by Garrett Breeze is easy to learn and fun to sing! The men and women sing the first and second verses respectively in unison, then come together on the third verse in familiar harmony. The piano part is full of movement, evoking the motion of the ocean as it ebbs and flows. An excited and accessible arrangement suitable for many different kinds of church services.Visit https://garrettbreeze.com to read my blog and discover new music!Check out my catalog of choral music at https://holidaychoirmusic.com!Subscribe to my YouTube channel at https://bit.ly/35HZC2d!Lyrics:Master the tempest is raging! The billows are tossing high! The sky is o'ershadowed with blackness. No shelter or help is nigh. Carest thou not that we perish? How canst thou lie asleep when each moment so madly is threat'ning a grave in the angry deep?Master with anguish of spirit I bow in my gried today. The depths of my sad heart are troubled. Oh, waken and save, I pray! Torrents of sin and of anguish sweep o'er my sinking soul, and I perish! I perish! dear Master. Oh hasten and take control!Master, the terror is over, the elements sweetly rest. Earth's sun in the calm lake is mirrored, and heaven's within my breast. Linger, o blessed Redeemer! Leave me alone no more, and with joy I shall make the blest harbor and rest on the blissful shore. The winds and the waves shall obey thy will: Peace, be still. Whether the wrath of the stormtossed sea or demons or men or whatever it be, no waters can swallow the ship where lies the Master of ocean and earth and skies. They all shall sweetly obey Thy will: Peace, be still. Peace, be still. They all shall sweetly obey Thy will: Peace, peace, be still.

Concert Band - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1501664 Composed by Percy Granger. Arranged by Brian S. Wilson. 20th Century,Classical. 37 pages. G. Meredith Publications #1077544. Published by G. Meredith Publications (A0.1501664). SET OF PARTS. Score sold separately. This orchestration is the end product of my book entitled Orchestrational Archetypes in Percy Grainger's Wind Band Music. In an attempt to understand the enigmatic style of Grainger's wind band music, I made a detailed analysis of his recurring orchestrational practices with regard to melody, countermelody, part writing and contrapuntal dynamics. The conclusion is that the Grainger sound is a function of recurring orchestrational techniques, rather than other compositional elements such as melody or harmony. This information was then used to dish up selected Grainger voice and piano pieces in his own idiosyncratic style. I also arranged “British Waterside” and “The Cutting of The Hay” (G. Schrimer). Lord Maxwell’s Goodnight is a reflective, moving piece based on a ballad about Lord Maxwell, who has killed a rival in a long-standing bloody family feud and is leaving for Scotland to avoid prosecution. He bids good-bye to his wife, his lands and his country. Lord Maxwell’s Goodnight appears as Grainger’s British Folk Music Setting No. 42 for high tenor voice or unison male chorus and 4 strings (violin, viola, 2 cellos) in 1904. The original is in the key of F major but has been shifted to Db major in this orchestration. The lyrics of the first verse are: Adieu, madame, my mother dear,But and my sisters three O!Adieu, fair Robert of Orchardstane,My heart is woe for thee, O!Adieu, the lily and the rose,The primrose fair to see, O!Adieu, my ladye, and only joy,For I may not stay with thee, O!.

Composed in 1999, the music celebrates the various stages of an American life at the waking of the 21st century. Constructed in four movements and representing four stages of life, birth, adolescence, maturity and old age, the music also pays homage to Shakespeare's Seasons Of Man His acts being seven ages, incorporated throughout the work.Spring introduces the ideas of birth and infancy. After the principal theme has been stated, there is a violin cadenza encountering all twelve major keys and a 13/8 time signature representing the ancient golden ratio. These elements recall birth with all the possibilities a new life offers. Ending the movement, the principal theme is repeated with more complexity... as if posing life's questions.Summer represents the excitement and bravado of youthful adolescence and young adulthood. For the style of this movement I use a happy-go-lucky Blues voice which melds into Swing. I identify swing rhythm in all of 20th century American music culture as a common thread that runs through Ragtime through Rock and Roll on to Rap. Swing means testing the waters and pushing the envelope for lovers and soldiers.Fall is the slow movement symbolizing the wisdom of maturity. It is a peaceful theme with nostalgic strokes. It is a time for sincere reflection and enjoying ones accomplishments in life.Winter embodies the complexities and knowledge of an older person and that of a dying person. The movement begins with the principal them from Spring, but with a dissonance that emanates from a lifetime full of emotions and responsibilities. In the middle of the movement is a transition to an old world. I use my personal ancestry from Ireland as a foundation from which to rediscover one's lineage and explore the meaning and value of a cultural legacy. The exploration evolves into a four- and five-part fugue with a reel, jig, air, countered bass and the motif from the principal theme. All these elements, dances and melodies appear simultaneously and converge to form a unique insight to life's consequences from a historical perspective. Following the fugue, the principal theme finds its way back in. It sounds much as it did at birth. In the end, the solo violin cadenza carries the last earthly breaths before the violin and orchestra once again join in harmony to focus on a new life being transformed somewhere else. Life's four seasons in perpetuity. Original music printed from the composer’s manuscripts.Music editing, copying and engraving by Mark O’Connorusing Finale on Apple Macintosh 1999 Composed by Mark O’ConnorCommissioned by the Troy Savings Bank Concert Hall for their 2000 Celebration Can be heard on American Seasons Sony Classical and The Essential Mark O’Connor Sony ClassicalMark O’Connor - violin, Metamorphosen Chamber Orchestra, Scott Yoo Catalogue Number MO148ACopyright © 1999 by Mark O’Connor Music International For more information on violinist and composer Mark O'Connor, O’Connor String Camps, Touring Ensembles, Discography, Bio, Repertoire and more, please visitwww.markoconnor.com For information on the O’Connor Method – instructional book series for vi.

Jacob Boseley #967289. Published by Jacob Boseley (A0.1382863). Treacherous Waters Claim, is a composition that holds a special place in my heart. Stemming from my fascination, and fear of the sea, Treacherous Waters Claim invites listeners into a world of eerie melodies, fluid rubato pacing, and melancholic undertones. Inspired by the captivating works of impressionist aesthetics, this composition was an attempt at a delicate balance of introspection and dramatic tension. It's a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns.    Moreover, Treacherous Waters Claim serves as a valuable learning tool for young ensembles, emphasizing the importance of visual communication and ensemble cohesion while not having an inaccessible range. Its accessible and engaging theme makes it an ideal choice for both educational and professional settings, adding depth and variety to any repertoire.'As you immerse yourself in the waves of this evocative composition, you'll find yourself transported to a world of shifting currents and hidden dangers, where every note carries profound meaning and emotion. Whether you're a music educator seeking to inspire your students or a performer in search of a captivating addition to your repertoire, Treacherous Waters Claim promises to leave a lasting impression.'.

Come unto me and bring forth works Of righteousness built on faith; Remember the deliverance of your fathers And the words the prophets saith. Strip yourselves of all pride and envy; Persecute not your brother; Be ready to help the needy and poor, Showing love to one another. Receive my image in your countenance; Sing the song of redeeming love; Humble yourselves and trust in my voice, That comes from the heavens above. Wash your garments in the blood of the Lamb; Steadfastly believe on my name; Have clean hands and a pure heart, Standing firm without guilt or shame. Come to the fold of the Good Shepherd, Repent, overcome every sin; I’m calling with a voice so gentle, Come to my fold and enter in.

May His goodness and mercy defend us, Keep us from trouble and harm, and remind us That His love is eternally ours. When we are laden with sorrows, He lifts our burden and eases our pain Cry unto heaven and trust His goodness Then you’ll see the salvation of God. Sing to the Lord with mind and might. May His knowledge and power still guide us. Hearing and heeding the words of the prophets, With the peace of the gospel be shod. When we’re confused and downhearted, Open the scriptures and bask in the light. Drink in the waters of life, then ponder And you’ll feel the salvation of God Sing to the Lord in glorious lay. Forever His love will enfold us, Warming our hearts as we reach out to others With forgiveness and laughter and love. Even from sin He redeems us; His hand will lead us from darkness to day. Reach out in service and love your brother And you’ll be the salvation of God.

THE GREAT WALL CONCERTO for 2 Pianos, 4 Hands 33 Pages(Piano I Original Piano Score)           &(Piano II Orchestra Adaptation)Advanced Approx. Duration 13 minutes; 30 secondsBy ROBERT VAN HORNE Composing THE GREAT WALL CONCERTO for Piano & Orchestra was a journey of inspiration, passion, and deep personal connection for me. Having traveled to China, I was most impressed with seeing the Great Wall. Years later, I composed a musical work for piano and orchestra - a creative and classic concerto, capturing the Great Wall's grandeur and majestic attraction. My first visit to the Great Wall of China was in 1983 while engaged as a pianist onboard a cruise ship that sailed the waters of Asia. My first impression of seeing the Great Wall and the scenic landscape surrounding it, was one of awe and amazement. At that time, I did not realize the lasting effect this memorable attraction would have on me. Inspired and motivated by several cherished Chinese excursions to the Great Wall during my cruise ship engagement, I began the monumental task of scoring music for piano and orchestra several years later. An excerpt from 2008 Music Teacher of California Magazine review states “…The Great Wall Concerto is pleasant to listen to and has a retro 1940’s movie soundtrack mood about it - Rachmaninoff style chords against melodies in the strings...Listening to this piece, I imagined a film starring Joan Fontaine and Claude Rains as star crossed lovers fleeing their respective spouses on a visit to China.â€After many years of offering the original Conductor’s Piano & Orchestra Score of the concerto with instrumental parts (currently available at Sheet Music Plus and Sheet Music Direct), the Duo Piano Score of THE GREAT WALL CONCERTO for 2 Pianos, 4 Hands is now also available at those two websites. Both Piano I and Piano II parts are clearly notated with phrasing, dynamics, accents, suggested fingerings and musical word descriptions for 2 Pianos, 4 Hands performances. THE GREAT WALL CONCERTO for 2 Pianos, 4 Hands makes a wonderful and memorable performance piece for two piano recitals as well as a score for practicing with an orchestra, since Piano I is the original piano part.A 2 Pianos, 4 Hands recording or video of THE GREAT WALL CONCERTO is not available at this time, however, a 2006 recorded version with Piano & Orchestra is available for demo purposes only. Except for the piano, all other instruments included are digital samples. A YouTube video can be viewed at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_Zr10XMnJc In conclusion, THE GREAT WALL CONCERTO For Piano and Orchestra is not only a tribute to the Great Wall of China, but also to the power of music in expressing the inexpressible.Published by White Piano International Publishing Robert Van Horne is a member of ASCAP.Official Website: www.robertvanhorne.comEmail: rvh@robertvanhorne.com
