My first acquaintance with Lars Ek Hot Trio refers to the autumn of 1982. It took place in Bergen during the annual enrollment of accordionist by the name TREKKSPILLGALLA In Grieghallen where Lars Ek until now been unknown. It has become a tradition with a Swedish touch during these autumn hits. Strong names Ebbe Jularbo, Roland Cedermark, Norwegian-Swede Olaf Wernersen to name a few. But no one has so far been stormed the audience as Lars Ek Hot Trio did. To experience the original Frosini, Nisse Lind, Ragnar Sundquist represents something new and good in the Accordion music. Genuine original accordion music that we remember so dearly good from the 1930-40's and which had been lying idle since then. The above-mentioned debut has caused several national border crossings for the trio. The last is the spring tour in western Norway this year (1985), where I had the honor to accompany the ensemble from Nor fjord Bergen. An experience for both the audience and the musicians. Yet we feel the turbulence after Lasses bellows murmur down the valley-society’s country. At Voss reached climax when history's first Trekkspill-fan-club became a fact of Lars Ek Fan Club. In alternating western country natural emanation from our flower at the fjord to the mountain huge snowstorm where we stood firm on the Vika Mountain on our way to Voss. After waiting up to a snow plow and colon driving, Lars Ek experience a new Norway. These strong impression of the natural contrasts mixed with the local population intimacy and spontaneity and contact Lasse put on the idea of a Norway-LP, which therefore now been completed in record time. Finally, I would quote one of Norway's largest newspapers to: Lars Ek is the best we have heard - and seen - on the accordion. Do not let it go three more years before he is in Bergen again. It has one of the most recognized and loved theme songs of all time.This arrangement is a Level 2 piece for 3-5 octaves of handbells. It is a straightforward piece with few technical demands. Just a few LVs and thumb damps and a bit of syncopation that matches the lyrics people know.It's a very short piece, coming in at just over one minute long, but it is very familiar and nostalgic, sure to be a favorite among both ringers and audiences. Appropriate for community and school handbell groups.(Reproducible for one ensemble).

The Lady of Spring takes her as an addition to her fantastical garden filled with tales and dreams of the flowers who dwell there. But when Gerde sees the rose on Spring's bonnet she wakes from her enchantment. Her tears spring back the roses who tell her Kai is not dead. She flees from the garden. Gerde grows up in the wilderness and a crow says that he has seen Kai at the Palace of the Queen of Summer. They hurry there to find a magnificent ball in progress. Gerde is introduced to the Kai lookalike but knows something is not right. The Queen of Summer helps Gerde on her way and lends her a coach and gives her a magic red rose that will never fade.As coach searches for Kai, it enters the season of Autumn and is accosted by robber girl and a band of theives. They dance in an rousing, energetic dance taunting her. When the morning comes Gerde tells her fellow captive animals of her quest to find Kai and that all hope is lost. The pigeons finally tell Gerde that Kai was abducted by the Snow Queen many years ago. The robber girl overhears them and has a change of heart letting her go with her reindeer to the far North of the Snow Queen.Gerde finds Kai in the palace of the Snow Queen piecing together the evil mirror. She gives Kai up for dead but leaves the rose of summer beside him. Kai spots the rose and he sheds a tear. NGC 4907 The barred spiral galaxy known as NGC 4907 shows its starry face from 270 million light-years away to anyone who can see it from the Northern Hemisphere. II. Interstellar Comet Borisov On Aug. 30, 2019, when amateur astronomer Gennady Borisov gazed upward with his homemade telescope, he spotted an object moving in an unusual direction. Now called 2I/Borisov, this runaway point of light turned out to be the first confirmed comet to enter our solar system from some unknown place beyond our Sun’s influence. III. Rose Galaxies The image shows a large spiral galaxy apparently attached to another one by a swirl of stars – a rose-like effect caused by the gravitational pull of the galaxy below it. The sprinkling of blue jewel-like points across the top of the larger galaxy is the combined light from clusters of intensely bright and hot young blue stars. It was written and sung by bass player Peter Cetera and released as a single on July 31, 1976. Another of Delius’s best-known works falls into the same category as The Walk to the Paradise Garden, being an interlude from an opera that is now rarely heard in full. Koanga predates A Village Romeo and Juliet by just four years and comes from the composer’s Bohemian years in Paris during the 1890s. Delius himself considered it his best opera to date. It was his third after Irmelin and The Magic Fountain and it drew on his experiences in the orange groves of Florida. The hero of the opera, Koanga, is an African prince and voodoo priest, now working as a slave on a Mississippi plantation. Delius incorporated a traditional Martinique dance from the seventeenth century into the plot, for which he wrote a small musical interlude, borrowing from something he had written earlier in his first orchestral work, the Florida Suite. When his trusty companion and scribe Eric Fenby arranged the interlude for orchestra in 1938 – some forty years later – it quickly became another hardy perennial on concert programmes up and down the land.

If Not Now, When? gets its title from the novel by Primo Levi, the Italian author who both survived life in Auschwitz and fought the continued German military presence in Italy with the Resistance after the Italian surrender to the Allies in September 1943. Levi meant that revolution and the overthrow of tyranny should never be 'put off until tomorrow'. If you believe you are on the side of right, then 'seize the day'- tomorrow may be too late. The inspiration for INNW? grew from research I was doing into an early song by Alban Berg called An Leukon which Berg wrote in 1907 while a student of Arnold Schoenberg. In delving into the kind of world which Berg inhabited in the Vienna of 100 years ago, I was fascinated by the café culture* which played a pivotal role in the lives of most artists: not only composers, but also writers, painters, architects and journalists. They swirled around the fashionable 'watering holes' sucking up current thoughts and ideas, high on Viennese coffee, cigar smoke and idealism! I envisaged a play which tried to encapsulate all this and wrote a few scenes with characters such as Schoenberg, Berg, Webern, Steuermann, Pisk, Kraus, Gropius and Altenberg heatedly discussing music, art and poetry over large cups of milky coffee. This grew into the framework for INNW? which, to paraphrase Pirandello's play about characters seeking an author, is a 'play without words in several scenes'. The piece is organised into 8 short movements or 'scenes' showing the 'Schoenberg cirle' sharing their radical and daring ideas and the shock or delight (or both simultaneously) with which those ideas are greeted. The first, which happens to be the longest, is rooted in conventional tonality. It begins with a fanfare in D flat major ('aux armes, citoyens!'), then seeks a 'freer' tonality by means of the 'emancipation of the semitone' only to capitulate in the central section and, finally, to 'fall back to earth' by winding down in G sharp minor. These 'scenes' are not meant to represent particular composers. They are, however, meant to represent the kinds of directions in which music could progress, given the 'breakdown' or 'stretching to its limits' of traditional harmony which had occurred in the previous 10 to 20 years. So many ways forward were promulgated, with one after another extraordinary, and often unexpected, futuristic musical panoramas glimpsed momentarily. My aim is to demonstrate which directions they decided they could head in having cleared the 'overgrown' path before them. * I even discovered that, around this time, in the Café Central, a certain Leon (Lev) Bronstein, otherwise known as Leon Trotsky, banished by the Okhrana (Imperial secrect police) from his native Russia, would spend all day in a back room playing chess. How delicious, I thought, if Schoenberg had ever brushed passed Trotsky or, indeed, had ever spoken to him: the one planning political and the other musical revolution!

This is one of the most beloved works in all of Mozart's catalog making it a strong choice for a recital, meditation, nightclub, church or wedding reception. Eine kleine Nachtmusik Eine kleine Nachtmusik is also at the same time known as Serenade No. 13. Indeed, we find it listed in the Köchel Catalog as K. 525. With this in mind, Mozart composed the piece by all means in 1787 probably as a commission. To clarify, the title translates as a little night-music. Mozart originally scored the work in particular for an ensemble of two violins, viola, and cello with double bass (optional). In modern times the work is certainly usually performed by string orchestras, though it is often in fact performed by a string quartet – with or without double bass. Publication A point often overlooked is that the name of the work derives from the entry Mozart made in his private journal. He wrote: Eine kleine Nacht-Musik. This explains that Mozart was probably not naming the piece, but only entering a record that he had completed it. Nevertheless, the work was published by and large in 1827. It had been sold to the publisher for the most part in 1799 by Mozart's widow Constanze. Nowadays, it is on balance extensively performed and recorded. Some critics ultimately claim that it is the most popular of all Mozart's works. Early Years Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 – 1791), was a productive and significant Austrian classical composer. Mozart displayed unusual musical capability from his earliest childhood. It seems like he was already capable on keyboard and violin at the age of two. He started composing at age five and performed before European royalty. Middle Period At 17, Mozart was working as a musician at the Salzburg Royal court but grew agitated from boredom and traveled to search for a more interesting job. While visiting Vienna in 1781, he was summarily dismissed from his Salzburg job. Nevertheless, he decided to stay in the capital (Vienna), where he achieved much fame but little economic haven. Throughout his concluding years in the Capital, he composed many of his most famous works: symphonies, operas, and concertos. Final Period The conditions surrounding his death have been much the subject of much conjecture and mythology. He composed more than 600 works, many recognized as highpoints of symphonic, chamber, concertante, choral and operatic. He is among the most everlastingly popular of classical composers, and his impact is substantial on succeeding Western art music.
