It premiered there at Dianabad hall on 16 February 1868. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2010 at the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria, repeated at the same event 2013 and 2018, the latter two broadcasted live by Austrian television. Concert Band - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497188 Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by Albert Schwarzmann. 19th Century,Opera,Romantic Period. 224 pages. Edition Schwalbe #1073609. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1497188). The operetta Eine Nacht in Venedig (A Night in Venice) premiered in Berlin on 3 October 1883. As the performance in Berlin was a failure, the operetta was reworked for the first performance in Vienna. Strauss also changed parts of the overture, and the Vienna version is regularly played since then. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2010 at the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and repeated at the same event 2017, which was broadcasted live by Austrian television. Concert Band - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1497138 Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by Albert Schwarzmann. 19th Century,March,Romantic Period. 51 pages. Edition Schwalbe #1073560. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1497138). Reitermarsch (Riders' March) was compiled based on motifs from the operetta Simplicius, which premiered in 1887. Most likely this march was first played on 18 December 1887 in the Vienna Volksgarten, but with the title Simplicius March. With certainty it was performed by Eduard Strauss on 15 January 1888 in the Vienna Musikverein. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned and first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2010 in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria, repeated on 6 January 2018 at the same event and broadcasted live by Austrian television. Concert Band - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1487841 Composed by Johann Strauss Jr. Arranged by Albert Schwarzmann. 19th Century,Classical,Romantic Period. 280 pages. Edition Schwalbe #1064776. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1487841). The Kaiser Walzer (Emperor Waltz) is one of most famous pieces of this genre and perhaps the one with the most pronounced symphonic character. It was written for the opening of the Berlin concert hall Königsbau on 19 October 1889. The first performance in Vienna took place on 11 November 1889 by his competitor Carl Michael Ziehrer, who made his own instrumentation along a piano edition. Strauss disliked that very much. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra. Is was two times performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2010 in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and 2018 also broadcasted live by Austrian television. The basis of this arrangement is the edition for tenor and piano by Agustín Lara with Spanish lyrics. It permitted a standalone orchestration for concert band without relationship to an existing orchestra version as with a transcription. Lara wrote this song on the Spanish town Granada in 1932. The arrangement of this version premiered with tenor Nutthaporn Thammathi and Wind Philharmonic Mozarteum Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer on 6 January 2014 in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television. Is was repeated in a slightly modified version with the same singer by Salzburg Wind Philharmonic conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2023, also in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and again broadcasted live by Austrian television. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1489659). Ohne Sorgen (Without Cares), a Polka schnell (Quick Polka) by Josef Strauss, younger brother of the famous king of waltz Johann jr., was composed in 1869,while passing the summer with the Strauss orchestra in Pavlovsk near St. Petersburg, Russia. It was premiered there on 10 September 1869. As a special feature of this piece, laughing by the musicians is demanded at certain points in the Trio. This is more difficult to execute with a wind band, as wind players can't laugh and play simultaneously like string players. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra. Is was first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2015 in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria, repeated on 6 January 2023 by Salzburg Wind Philharmonic and broadcasted both times live by Austrian television. Edition Schwalbe #1062781. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1485710). Freunde, das Leben ist lebenswert! (Life Is Worth Living, My Friends) is an aria from Giuditta, the last operetta by Austrian-Hungarian composer Franz (Ferenc) Lehár, first performed on 20th January 1934 at Vienna State Opera in Austria. It's the first performance aria of Octavio, a part for a powerfol tenor singer. The large orchestral score is not easy to balance with the tenor part, perhaps even more tricky with wind orchestra. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra. Is was first time performed by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer on 23rd April 2016 in Salzburg, Austria with native of Thailand tenor Nutthaporn Thammathi at their concert Spring in Sanzburg and repeated by Salzburg Wind Philharmonic with same conductor and soloist at their Three Kings' Concert on 6th January 2023 in the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria and broadcasted live by Austrian television. Published by Edition Schwalbe (A0.1505894). Giuseppe Verdi had the ambition to get some of his operas first performed in Paris. So he composed Don Carlos first in French, and he also had to deliver a ballet. Ballo della regina is kept as an interlude in the third act of the opera, which premiered on 11 March 1865 at Opéra National de Paris. The arrangement is kept in the original key of the composition for symphony orchestra and was commissioned by Mozarteum Wind Philharmonic Salzburg. Due to an overlength program they performed not the whole ballet music, but only the final. It was first time performed conducted by Hansjoerg Angerer at their Three Kings' Concert on 6 January 2017 at the Grosses Festspielhaus (Large Festival Hall) in Salzburg, Austria. A live recording of this concert is available at https://www.salzburg-windphilharmonic.at/de/viva-litalia/ or https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/viva-l-italia/hnum/10428716?iampartner=303&subid=umr12&ref=partner.jpc.de .
