I played this way back in 1976 on a baritone/euphonium for state contest. I earned a I rating and another medal to hang on my letter jacket. If you can play this, I guarantee a I rating and points toward All State.

I'm in sixth grade, and I'm learning this song. The hardest part of it is the double tonguing.

Posted the at 00:00
Not terribly technically difficult once you get the double tonguing and F major arpeggios down. Fun to play.

This is not an easy piece to learn as a highschool freshman: Hard!

This Goedicke trumpet \'piece\' is utter garbage. An irritating chore to listen to and a mundane, banal annoyance to play.

I\'m in the 8th grade and i\'m working on this piece for solo and ensemble. It\'s great. I love it. I know a freshman that can play this flawlessly and he got me into it. I hope i can sound as good as him!

Does someone know where can I find it ?

Good luck to the poor accompianist!!

Tough...But it was very workable after several reherals! Practice! Also, to the commenter by the name of "Ryan P" it is impossible to "Flawlessly" play any thing, that like mastering an instrument.... it just doesnt happen, you aim to do so. Have Fun!

This piece is a five, hands down. It is a difficult piece for anyone. My college professor used this when he was a guest soloist. The range is not taxing, the rhythm is not difficult, and the double tonguing isn't hard if you practice. What makes it a five is when people play it FLAWLESSLY. That takes incredible concentration, and trumpet playing. I heard a Curtis kid dog it in a master class. At first glance, the piece looks achievable by high school kids. Look deeper, and you will find numerous places where students will foul up.

Hi, I'm a high-schooler going to contest and failing on this! It's my favorite peice for Trumpet, if i could only get through all the double tounging parts cleanly without having a seizure...

Wow, I may be under rating this song, it's pretty close to a 5. This is a great piece, but be careful. I've heard many high schoolers take it to contest and fail on it, so be careful. There is a recording of Allen Vizzutti playing this song, if you can find that, listen to it! This is definately one of my all time favorite trumpet pieces.
