Added by gorden-gibson, 22 Jan 2014 The hornpipe is any of several dance forms played and danced in Britain and elsewhere from the late 17th century until the present day. It is said that hornpipe as a dance began around the 16th century on English sailing vessels. To easily change from the 1st to the 9th position in measure 2, slide the hand until it rests on the body of the guitar. This method makes the 9th position the easiest location to find on the neck of the guitar. I recommend playing this and the "Staten Island Hornpipe" back to back. Source / Web : | Hornpipe | |
