Today he is commonly known simply as "Lord Byron", and is regarded as having been one of the leading figures in the Romantic movement. Amongst his best known works are the lenghty narrative poems Don Juan and Childe Harold's Pilgrimage as well as the short lyric She walks in Beauty. Lord Byron remains widely read today and is remembered as one of Britain's greatest poets. He died on the 19 April 1824. |
