Added by bhannavichaya-vadhanasiriphongs, 08 Jan 2015 Woodwind Quartet No.2 was written in December 2014. After being inspired in Stravinsky's rhythm technique presented by Aj Judy Bozone, Bhannavichaya wrote the piece, which finished within a week later. This wind quartet was written under Aj Judy’s advice to study about composing by using rhythmic technique. After few corrections in The Man Hermes and the Axes, Aj Judy assigned homework for Bhannavichaya to expanded rhythmic idea she gave in the piece, which is the beginning of writing new wind quartet piece focusing on rhythmic. The piece is under Sonata form, which first theme strongly focusing on rhythmic idea, using accent, with few harmonic moments. The second theme focuses on counterpoint, which suited well for 4 instruments ensemble. The Developing was combing ideas from theme 1 and 2, before the piece will return theme 1 and theme 2 as recapitulation. The piece ended niente. The piece will be given the first performance on 16 January 2015 on Student’s Composition Concert, College of Music, Mahidol University. Musicians of WoodWind Quartet No. 2, First Performance at Mahidol University. 1. Chayapon Kanlayasiri: Flute 2. Sansiri Sankul: Oboe 3. Pawarit Ruengrong: Clarinet 4. Watchanin pramokchon: Bassoon |
