Added by bhannavichaya-vadhanasiriphongs, 31 Aug 2015 “Nirat of Korea(Thai:นิราศเ 3585;าหลี)” is an existing poet written by Rear-Admiral Juab Hongsakul, who was a Thai solider, he was sent from Thailand to Korea during the Korean war. Nirat is a Thai word, which is a type of poet refer to the themes of journeying, separation, and love-longing(from http:// global.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/1082562/nirat). The piece’s title was chosen to match the Korean’s theme “Changbu Taryung” which also mentions about journey and love. Nirat of Korea focuses on using motive from Changbu Taryung for entire piece. The beginning of the theme-di ri di is the most used motive. In introduction part(measure1-12),as the beginning of the piece, theme-di ri di is used, but interrupt with the flz. notes(di-ri-(flz. notes)-di). Other motive from Changbu Taryung are also used by using parts of the theme(as in measure 15-17), using rhythm(as in measure17-19). In this piece, mostly second interval is used. Nirat of Korea’s tempo is set quite slow in order to match the original theme Changbu Taryung. Also, slow tempo could mention about journey, which takes long time and long distance to meet the lover. However, at the end of the piece, the tempo was set a little faster to simulate that the traveller wants to arrive destination earlier, but that’s quite impossible! Also, the piece ended questioned? Nirat of Korea lasts about 6 minutes. |
