João Teixeira Guimarães (1883-1947) , known by the name of João Pernambuco his home state , was a musician and guitarist Brazilian composer.
Son of indigenous Caeté mother and Portuguese father , he already played the guitar at age 12, he had learned with singers and guitarists ( sertanejos ) of his city.
With the death of his parents, he moved to Recife , where he was an apprentice blacksmith.
