(b?Florence; d Rome, 1622). Italian composer. After serving in Florence he became maestro di cappella of S Giovanni dei Fiorentini, Rome, in 1616. He was one of the most popular composers of secular vocal chamber music. He published six volumes of Varie musiche (1614-22), mainly of solo songs, and one of madrigals (1610).
