Ajoutée par kheidtmann, 04 Fév 2020 The intermediate arrangement was used for a nice videoclip with French poetry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTv-qcgv2YM Excerpt (5 Variations: 1,2,3,4,11) transposed from G to A minor. The original Passacaglia of Handel comprises 16 variations over a groundbass (a bassline that is continually repeated throughout a composition). Both long-known Passacaglias of César Thomson's for Violin and Piano (1890) and of Johan Halvorsen’s for Violin and Viola (1893) are based off of Handel’s Passacaglia. For an arrangement of the later as a Piano Duet see https://www.free-scores.com/sheetmusic?p=ay1asudIeD. Especially the idea of one voice repeating the same note while the other (middle) voice goes downwards is used by Handel in the Variation 11, the last one given here. Many musicians borrowed this idea later as shown in an arrangement of this final variation.
