Gaspare Gabellone, also Caballone, Cabelone, Gabbelone
and Gabaldone (1727 – 1796), was an Italian composer,
son of Michele Caballone. The difference in the surname
from his father Caballone is due to Gaspare's
preference in using the Gabellone variant to identify
himself. He studied music starting in 1738 at the
Conservatory of Santa Maria di Loreto in Naples, where
he studied singing and composition under the teaching
