composer, in 1827 composed the opera ‚Il pirata‘.
In the second act of this opera we find a solo for
English horn with accompaniment by a harp. This
beautiful piece, that can be played also by a basset
horn with harp, is presented here. It may be mentioned,
that during a performance of this opera in Munich in
1836 the solo in fact has been played on the basset
horn by Carl Baermann (1811 – 1885). | |||
