Ajoutée par kheidtmann, 20 Nov 2020 This Gloria has been discovered in the library of London's Royal Academy of Music by Prof. H.J. Marx from the University of Hamburg, Germany. In 2001 he found this substantial composition for soprano and strings bound in a collection of Handel arias. Research indicates that Handel composed this work around 1707 in Rome. To me it sounds like his first opera Almira HWV 1 composed in Hamburg and premiered at the Hamburg Opera in 1705. Source / Web : | | |
