Martin Friedrich [Matthias Franciscus] Cannabich (1690
- 1773) was a German composer, oboist and flutist. He
was court musician in the chapel of Elector Johann
Wilhelm. After the elector's death, Cannabich worked
for his successor Karl Philipp in Heidelberg from 1718
to 1720. After the electoral court moved from
Heidelberg to Mannheim, he can be verified as a member
of the court orchestra in Mannheim in 1723. There he
was also the flute teacher of Prince Elector Karl
Theodor. He retired in 1756....(+)
