Ajoutée par lrubarth, 01 Mai 2023 This Allegretto from Op. 35 "Twenty four very easy exercises" was written by the Spanish guitar composer Fernando Sor (1778-1839), and its original title is Study N°22 in b minor. According to Atahualpa Yupanqui, the alternative title "La Gota de Agua" was given by José de San Martín (1778-1850), an Argentinian General who took guitar lessons from Sor in France. Yupanqui also refers to it as "La Quitapenas" or "El Arreglador". My transcription is based on the version he recorded on the 22th of Juli 1967 in Japan for the album "Alma de Guitarra" (1967). For the album version Don Ata tuned his guitar to D# so that the piece actually sounds in Bb. For the version he performed on a live television program in 1988 (Argentina Televisora Color) he plays the piece in c# minor with a capo in the second fret and in the introduction to his performance he tells Antonio Carrizo (1926-2016) details about the background of the the piece and how José de San Martín got to study with Fernando Sor. As far as fingering positions and a few harmonies are concerned, both versions from 1967 and 1988 are slightly different and they vary from Sor's original edition of the piece, but, inspite of giving it his personal touch, his interpretations are still quite close to the original.
