Giacomo Setaccioli ( Corneto , December 8 1868 - Siena , December 3 1925 ) was a composer and teacher Italian .
He studied flute at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome and was a student of composition of Cesare De Sanctis . After graduation, in 1893, began his career as a composer.
His first work, The last of Abenceagi attracted the attention of the tenor Roberto Stagno and soprano Gemma Bellincioni . They also sang at the premiere of his second opera The sister of Mark (1896) at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome. In 1898 he won with his concert overture , the first prize in a competition organized by ' Accademia di Santa Cecilia . In 1903 he completed the opera Adriana Lecouvreur on libretto by Enrico Golisciani . This work was never represented following the death of the impresario Pond (1897) that he had ordered.
