 | Bruno Miranda (1971 - ) Portugal, Linda-a-VelhaBruno Miranda was born in Lisbon, on February 22, 1971.
He started to learn music with his grandmother, a former lyrical singer and piano teacher.
He continued his musical studies at the Academia dos Amadores de Música (Music Academy) ,
where he studied music theory and piano.
Later, he was admitted to the Music School of the National Conservatory, where he graduated. At
the Conservatory, he studied Piano, Analysis and Composition Techniques, Music Theory, Choir,
Music History and Acoustics.
During the course he played as a soloist in several piano recitals.
In order to improve his composition skills, he had private lessons with the portuguese composer
Sérgio Azevedo and also with Jorge Machado.
He also studied Orchestration with the composer and Conservatory teacher Paulo Brandão.
He participated in several orchestration/composition courses and seminars given by the composer
Emanuel Nunes.
In 1991, he composed the soundtrack for a TV pilot-episode.
In 1995, he was admitted to the Film Scoring major at the Berklee College of Music. A scholarship
from this institution was attributed to him.
In 1997, he won a composition contest for writing the soundtrack for a portuguese movie called
"Godspeed Bullet", to be exhibited during the worldwide exposition Expo'98.
He was part of the Vocal Group Arsis (mixed choir) having participated in several concerts.
He composed several works for piano, orchestra, choir and lieder.
Presently, he plays the piano with the baritone Francisco Wagner, having performed in voice/piano
recitals.
He also has a degree in Management by the Superior School of Business Sciences.
