Ernest Chausson (1855 - 1899) France Ernest Chausson, (Paris le 20 janvier 1855, Limay le 10 juin 1899), compositeur français. Issu d'une famille bourgeoise, il fit des études de droit et devint avocat avant d'aborder le domaine musical. Il étudia alors dans la classe de Jules Massenet au Conservatoire de Paris, puis, auprès de César Franck. Il fit par la suite des voyages en Allemagne pour écouter notamment Richard Wagner à Bayreuth, où il assista à la création de Parsifal. En 1886, il devint secrétaire de la Société nationale de musique et il reçut chez lui nombre d'artistes majeurs de son temps.
