Jan van Boom (1807 - 1872) Suède Jan (Johan/Johannes) van Boom, born in Utrecht on 15 September 1807, died in Stockholm on 19 March 1872. Piano teacher at the education institution of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music in 1848, professor in 1859. Member of the academy in 1844. Van Boom composed for a wide range of settings, with an oeuvre that includes countless piano pieces, chamber music, orchestral pieces and an opera. His works were published in Sweden and Germany.
