| Ajoutée par bernard-dewagtere, 09 Avr 2010 Amazing Grace (Grâce infinie en français) est l'un des chants les plus connus en Grande-Bretagne, en Irlande et aux États-Unis. Les paroles furent écrites par John Newton, vers 1760. John Newton était le capitaine d'un navire négrier. Le 10 mai 1748, sur le chemin du retour, au cours d'une tempête, il a connu une « grande délivrance ». Dans son journal il a écrit que le bateau risquait de couler. Après avoir survécu à cette tempête, il devint pasteur et renonça au trafic d'esclaves, au point de devenir militant de la cause abolitionniste. La mélodie de cette chanson n'a pas été composée par J. Newton, et les paroles ont d'abord été chantées sur de nombreuses autres mélodies avant d'être définitivement accolées à celle-ci. Cette mélodie est celle d'un vieil air irlandais ou écossais. Selon certaines sources, elle aurait plutôt été empruntée aux esclaves eux-mêmes, car selon certaines sources, elle serait d'origine sud-africaine. Le succès de ce negro-spiritual a également provoqué une renaissance d'Amazing Grace dans le domaine de la musique celtique. C'est aujourd'hui un des airs les plus joués à la cornemuse. So rare to find a longer version of this song! Love the fluidity of the arrangement.I feel this piece both showcases the piano and flute in a way that neither instrument takes a back seat to the other. thank you for also including the songs true history. My mom and I have been playing as a team for many years (she plays the piano and I the flute) This will be the perfect piece to play at the church we attend. Thank you for sharing your talent and gifts with us. |
