Gabriel Fauré was born in Pamiers, Ariège,
Midi-Pyrénées, in the south of France, the fifth son
and youngest of six children of Toussaint-Honoré
Fauré (1810–85) and Marie-Antoinette-Hélène
Lalène-Laprade (1809–87).
