domination of the High Kingship of Ireland by the Uí

Cennétig mac Lorcain, and especially his elder
brother, Mathgamain, Brian first made himself King of
Munster, then subjugated Leinster, making himself ruler
of the south of Ireland. He is the founder of the
O'Brien dynasty. His name is remembered in the title of
one of the oldest tunes in Ireland's traditional
repertoire: "Brian Boru's March". It is still widely
played by traditional Irish musicians.
Although this work was originally written for Voice and
Folk Instruments, I created this arrangement for Flute,
Oboe and Concert (Pedal) Harp.
