Added by michelnossorguine, 05 Apr 2024 The Eucharistic “kanon” constitutes, in the Orthodox Church, the series of prayers addressed by the ecclesial assembly to God, so that He transforms the gifts brought to the altar by the faithful, into the Body and Blood of the Lord. This sequence is made up of exclamations exchanged between the celebrant and the assembly, prayers addressed to God by the officiant and partially repeated by the assembly. It culminates with the invocation of the Holy Spirit so that He descends on the bread and the wine. |
