Added by alfredo17, 27 Oct 2020 In the National Museum of Prague a manuscript is preserved (Sig.XXV.II.C.53), containing arrangements of an unknown arranger of opera arias for 3 basset horns. The manuscript presents 3 arias of the opera ‘Der Spiegel von Arkadien’ by Franz Xaver Süßmayr (1766 – 1813) , first performed in Vienna in 1794, and one aria of the opera ‘La Dama Soldato’ by Johann Gottlieb Naumann (1741 – 1801), first performed in Dresden in 1791. The arrangement should have been produced soon after the first performances of the operas. |
