Born in Vermont, she also lived in Vineland, New Jersey, and Portland Oregon. Actually, she was quite a prolific songwriter, with between 1,400 and 1,500 hymns to her credit. William J. Kirkpatrick provides the tune on this one, an underperformed classic that deserves more recognition. 1.
