This concertato was commissioned by ArtsPlymouth for the choir and congregation of Plymouth Church, UCC, Shaker Heights, Ohio. Both the standard text ( "Alleluia! Hearts to Heaven ") and a 20th-century text by Jane Parker Huber ( "God, Creation's Great Designer ") are provided. A brief introduction, two verses, an interlude, verse three is choir only, interlude/key change and a fourth verse with descanting sopranos. For SATB, two trumpets, and organ, with optional timpani. Two reproducible congregational parts are provided, one for each text.
