The examination and evaluation of all relevant copies uncovered many a surprising new reading. Responsible for the new edition is the renowned organist and musicologist Jean-Claude Zehnder. An extensive introduction and highly commendable commentary round off this volume too. They also can be downloaded here. Next to a reliable musical text the highestimportance was placed once again on performance-practical aspects the results of which can be seen in the greater spaciousness for the notation and comfortable page turns. The enclosed CD-ROM contains more versions presented synoptically and for printing a facsimile of an early copy of BWV 664 and the English translation of the commentary.
