Salute To Scarlatti is a suite of 4 short one-movement works in homage to the great Italian composer Domenico Scarlatti (1685 1757) who famously wrote 555 Keyboard sonatas. The four movements Allegretto Deciso - Andante Amabile - Allegro Moderato E Grazioso - Allegro Scherzando attempt to showcase the wide range of styles that Scarlatti developed including a lyrical pastorale melody a strong contrapuntal intermezzo and a grand bravura finale. Norman Dello Joio (1913-2008) was a prolific American composer whose works were published over a span of more than 60 years. He wrote many works for choral ensembles Piano andOrchestra.
