Songs of Innocence is our first, and best selling choral suite. Published in 1987, it has been acclaimed wherever it has been performed. The music is rhythmic and fun, and strikingly sets the classic texts by William Blake. This is a piece you would be proud to perform anytime. Published as separate octavos, the five movements of Songs of Innocence are listed immediately below. With a text that begins, "when my mother died, I was very young, and my father sold me while yet my tongue could scarcely cry 'weep, 'weep, 'weep, 'weep, so your chimneys I sweep, and in soot I sleep," the Chimney Sweeper is an elegant and poignant song. One of our most successful chorals.
