A new SATB divisi, a cappella choral setting by Normand Gouin of the well-known paraphrase of Ubi caritas by Omer Westendorf. The captivating melody (B minor) is first sung by 2- and 3-part voices, then flowers into SATB. The middle section introduces new music which gradually builds in intensity and modulates into an emotional climax before placidly returning to the original melody. A sublime choice for Holy Thursday, also appropriate for general use. A singing Spanish translation is included for the entire work. Duration 3:45. |
