I have not run across a fugue as innovative as this short work. I listen to fugues all the time---the pinnacles in my estimation are Mozart's K. 546; and Beethoven's Grosse Fuge. And this, I shall add to the list. The piano performance is harsh, almost punk---wonderful interpretation. Rock on, Yoder!! |
