Added by rikart, 14 May 2011 There is a story behind this, but in the interests of discretion I ought not share it, suffice to say however that for all of you who may sometimes have feelings of regret I dedicate this to you. Writing this music has been a cathartic experience, and I know I am very fortunate, blessed even, to be able to express my feelings, happy and sad, with music. I hope you find comfort in this. Healing takes time, and on occasion the scars of old wounds are sensitive to an unexpected touch. Aside from the pleasure that music may bring, however fanciful it is I think of music-making as the very plaster I often need to protect myself from pain. It's a medicine that contains a blissful irony. It seems that music can simultaneously express and re-frame one's experiences. Perhaps indeed, in pain, or through pain, there can be joy. |
Many thanks to Axelle Bernard for playing this piece so beautifully in her video uploaded to her YouTube channel. |
Muy bonita, suena maravillosa con la cejilla en el primer traste. ↪ Thanks Serafin! I like your suggestion of playing it with a capo on the first fret! |
