Added by alastair-lewis, 09 Jul 2011 The English hymn known as 'All Through the Night' was originally a Welsh folksong of the the same title but, obviously... in Welsh : 'Ar Hyd y Nos'. The tune was first notated as early as the 18th century, in a publication called 'Musical and Poetical Relics of the Welsh Bards' by Edward Jones. The Welsh lyrics were written by John Ceiriog Hughes. An early English translation was completed by Thomas Oliphant in 1862. As is to be expected the song is popular with traditional Welsh male voice choirs, and is to be heard at numerous festivals in Wales and around the world. This free sheet music is for solo alto saxophone. Source / Web : | meastros-of-the-guitar | Sheet central : | All through the Night (Ar Hyd y Nos) (18 sheet music) | |
