Added by alastair-lewis, 09 Aug 2011 This popular carol was first performed on Christmas eve, 1818 at the St Nicholas parish church, which is to be found in the small town of Oberndorf bei Salzburg, in the European country Austria. The lyrics of the carol had been written in 1816 by a young priest, Father Joseph Mohr. He approached a local schoolmaster and organist Franz Xaver Gruber to compose a melody and guitar accompaniment for the lyrics. The two together performed the carol for the first time during mass on the night of December 24, 1818. This free sheet music is for solo trombone. Sheet central : | Douce nuit, Sainte nuit (Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht) (342 sheet music) | |
