Added by alastair-lewis, 22 Aug 2011 This music is in the key of C major, but it modulates into C minor at bar 9, then returning to the major key again. It has a 2/4 time signature and a quick lively tempo. This free sheet music is for solo alto saxophone. The term folk music was first used in the 1800s, but today it is often applied to music that is older than that. Traditional folk music has been defined in different ways : 1. Music that was passed down through an oral tradition. Before the 20th century farm and factory workers were usually illiterate, and thus they learnt songs by memorizing them. 2. Music which was written anonymously. 3. Music of the lower classes. 4. Music that was related to a national culture. |
