Added by magataganm, 05 Feb 2012 At a time of great loss, many people find themselves looking for words, they struggle to express their sincere, and often heartfelt, empathy for the sad occasion, it is at these times that music can unveil a dimension of meaning and feeling that words alone cannot create. I created this hymn version of the folk spiritual "Goin' Home" (from William Arms Fisher/Antonín Leopold Dvořák: "The New World Symphony" Largo Symphony No. 9 in E minor, Op. 95 Movement 2) for the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church (SVUMC) in an attempt to reinforce solace in the somber occasion. I believe this intrepretation reveals the light at the end of the tunnel. Sheet central : | Symphonie No.9 en mi mineur « Du Nouveau Monde » (74 sheet music) | |
Love this. First time I came acoss this was in my beginners book for piano. Had no idea of the true story behind it but very first play I thought immediately of "going home to heavenly father. Not in a sad way but with much gladness in my heart. Still feel that way. Will also see if I can find guitar tabs for this. Thank you for making things like this available for those of us who cannot afford to purchase. magataganm , 04 Sep 2021 at 13:55 ↪ Great! I'm glad you like it. Thank you for the feedback! |
